Wishing I Was Here
I have the clock set to eastern standard time (as I am on the east coast of the US). The clock, however, seems to think I'm in some other parallel universe. My REAL clock in my house says that it is 11:00 AM (which it really is), but the forums say it is 10:30 AM. What's wrong with this system?

To make things worse, it is starting to jump huge amounts of time. I was one the front page, it says that it is 10:28 AM. I go into a thread for a few seconds, and then leave to go back to the front page. It says it is now 10:55 AM! I was only in the thread for a few seconds.

The forum clock is always off a little bit from what it probably should be.

But, as far as the time 'jumping', The time only updates each time a page it loaded. So, maybe you hadn't reloaded the front page for awhile so the time was 'old', then going into the forum let it refresh the time.

For me it's off by 10 minutes. Forum time is 7:25PM and my computers clock is 19:35 (7:35PM)

The forum clock has always been off, i think TF tried to fix it a year or 2 ago but just said screw it  its a lost cause

For me it's off by 10 min. Right now it's 17:19 and the forum clock says 17:09

I set my clock by this: http://www.gameszone.ro/

It's GMT+2, so if you live somewherelse in the world add or substract a few hours.

TOOL TIME!!!

or...

TIME FOR TELETUBBIES!!!

*someone had to say it* :mischief:

The clock is also off about 10 minutes for me. It has pretty much always been, as others have said. Actually, one time the server was upgraded and someone fixed the clock so it was exactly right, but inevitably it eventually turned 10 minutes slow.

DOM is probably right about the time jumping (and it also explains why it was half an hour off). To be more specific, you loaded the front page at about 10:38, and it said 10:28. At 11:00 (10:50 forum time) you noticed the time and loaded a forum page, then by 11:05 (10:55 forum time) you loaded the front page again and noticed the time. That is, unless the first time you were at the front page you were only there for a few seconds, in which case I have no idea.

Yeah! Teletubbies! Woo!

The clocks are usually off between 8 and 15 minutes for me. Or maybe I'm just procrastinating when I get 15 minutes off.

Like SunTzu said above, it's a constant thing here that the forum clock is about 10 minutes slow. Most of us have just learned to live with it. ;)

(Showing my age: when I say the thread title, the first thing I thought of was: "It's Howdy Doody Time!" :p )

THe Forum's Clock is about 12 mins off from mines.

It gets more and more off everyday. I think TF is just setting it back from time to time.

The clock was fast by an hour then we started daylight savings and now it is slow by an hour.??

Aren't you from Australia? Shouldn't that mean you have daylight saving when the rest of the world don't? The Northern Hemisphere stopped daylight saving, when you started. +2 hours for you. :D

Well that would explain it. I didn't realise that you guys had daylight savings as well though.... I thought it was an Australian invention.

IIRC Germany invented it during WWI, whereupon everyone else thought "Hey, a Secret Weapon! We need Daylight Savings too! "

In my opinion Day Light Savings is really quite stupid. I guess that some people seem to think that moving the clock forward an hour helps people some how. But I believe it creates unnessisary confusion and hassle.

Daylight Savings Time can be discussed in OT right now fellows ;) (a thread is already there).

The forum clock is off by 11 minutes for me.

Daylight savings time just pisses me off really. Right now it's getting dark at 500-530, the day is too damn short
