And if it is, which NW is most worthy to GE rush.
By the way, is there any NW that can't be rush by 1 GE.

A related question: does it make sense to rush a world wonder? I can think of UN for diplo victory, but other than that... What WW could be worth of a great person? Mids perhaps, but that requires that we have a forge and run an engineer.

I did rush Great Library before (PHI and Pyras i think, no marble) cos it's paying back so fast with new GP points.

And Taj (but rather long ago), if a normal golden age requires 2 GP already it's not bad spending only one (Engi) for Taj imo, and lacking other ways to get those hammers.

I've done Moai statutes before, it's not like I really evaluate things all that critically but the situation was prime for it, I settled that city with this plan already in mind and then the plan was to leverage the production to invade a neighbour so I had a short term goal in mind (not as though the invasion was entirely from the Moai hammers but it was early game and they helped). I thought it was successful and that city was very useful to me for the rest of the game because of it. I would consider doing it again.

Also Forbidden Palace might have situations going for it as well.

To answer Sampsa's related question. Yes I think an engineer WW rush can pay off. I've used a Pyramid GE to rush Hanging Gardens which when you add a forge at some point and run an engineer you can sort of get your original GE back and if you've just rushed and have heaps of cities the +1 pop can then be whipped to keep the war rolling. Sometimes the situation is that you don't have anything else profitable to do with it. Nobody to trade with / Good tech lead already / Bad engineer tech priority means bulbing isn't as good. Music GA coming so golden age not a great use. I can see the immediate boost of a Great Library, Great Lighthouse, Parthenon, Taj, Versailles, ...? being the best option in some situations.

But as I said, I'm no Wastin Time et al and I don't evaluate things all that critically, I just go with what feels right and that's probably why I get smashed on Deity.

Personally I didn't rush WW much either. My main use of GE is to found mining inc.
So, what would you think is generally the optimal use of GE beside founding corp. Settling , Bulbing or Burn for golden age?

Well, in general I would not aim to get a GE, because I view the :hammers: gain from rushing a WW rather underwhelming compared to for example :science: you gain by GS bulbing or :gold: gained by GM trade mission. Hence, "unlucky" GE/GP/GA are usually golden age fodder for me. I have never won space, so I'm very inexperienced with corps, but I understand that Mining inc can be very powerful.

If I don't have marble but somehow got Engineer (Pyramids... Forge... HG... maybe all of them :D ) and its still there - MoM can pay back really nicely if game plan is to run 4 GA at some point (65 turns becomes 97 turns). Not always can have it from some weak, not monster AI :D Kremlin is good (its kind of cheap but... quick access to high effiency whips or buys is too sweet). I guess as almost everything in this game - its all about what is out there.

If you play on a Terra map, you can build FP in the old world and GE rush the palace in the new world. Helps you spam cities in the new world without getting wrecked by maintenance. It also lets you delay courthouses until after granary and maybe forge.

In rare circumstances you can sort of turn the GE hammers into units by rushing ironworks.
