Does Tactics (GG) work on seige machines?

You can attach a GG/Trebuchet to a catpult and give it the tactics promotion, but it doesn't seem to improve your withdraw odds (or is it just me)

the only sensible promotion for treb. is morale+accuracy, and you have use mounted units w/ bombards.
if you have more Great generals, you can make even medic (m3) from a siege weapon.

it does improve the withdraw odds but it's a waste nonetheless, the odds to lose the warlord are truly high.

Just wondering why you would attach a GG to a seige weapon? Sounds like a huge risk to me

It certainly does work. The thing is, if odds are already pretty high you might barely notice the change.

e.g. A treb with 98% withdraw odds, after given the 30% extra withdraw chance will have 98.6% withdraw odds. That's not all that impressive IMO. I would tend to say that promotion is a waste on siege units.

So if you added a GG to a trebuchet (just for fun) what would be the best promotions? CR1,2 and 3 and colloteral, or accuracy?

With morale and accuracy, does that mean you could bombard and attack in the same turn?

no, it means you can move and bombard or attack. (or double pillage)
