I usually play continents/emperor, but started an immortal/rome/pangea game last night. I was really surprised by how long the wonders were available. I seriously built the great library on turn 102 and bulbed education. Then I got the oracle a couple turns later. I had already built Stonehenge and Hanging Gardens.
If you're wondering why I'm building all these wonders it's because I got stuck in an area surrounded by mountains & City States. There's room for 4 really nice cities, but only 2 iron. There was no other iron nearby through city states or trade, so I had to abandon my dreams of conquest and instead am trying to build my way to victory. I'm doing ok so far, but only because of the ridiculous wonders I've been able to build. This is also my first try on immortal since the patch. So is this a fluke or what???
