Doesn't Geography matter anymore ?

To be cute, I've put the names of several other countries on their map.
It looks like my game of Victoria after I made everyone go to war!

But with the border issues, you might have hit North America right on the nose! Good job! :goodjob:

^ You know the worst part is some Americans would really not figure this one out.
Now, now, I know there's a secret part of the Battery Tunnel that takes me right to England.

I misplaced Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Hungary. Hungary appeared to me as the first country there in central Europe. The Vatican and Monaco however were placed before Italy and France, respectively, so at least I know where those two are. 88% with an average error of 11 miles.

31/53 on the level 9 Africa game.

33/52 on the level 3 African capitals. Stupid test. Dar es Salaam is no longer the official capital of Tanzania! Gwargh! It's Dodoma, duh! :D

And some more.

Asia Level 3 - 100% in 84 seconds
Asia Level 5 - 100% in 74 seconds
Asia Level 8 - 100% in 148 seconds
Asia Capitals Level 3 - 100% in 109 seconds
Mid East Capitals Level 3 - 94% in 40 seconds. Didn't get Ramallah for Palestine.
Mid East Level 3 - 100% in 47 seconds
Mid East Level 8 - 100% in 65 seconds
Africa Level 8 - 98% in 176 seconds. Once again, Niger gave me problems.
Africa Level 9 - 94% in 304 seconds. Niger, Burkina Faso, and Liberia.
African Capitals Level 3 - 98% in 153 seconds. They consider Pretoria the capital of South Africa, when it actually has three.
US Capitals Level 3 - 96% in 197 seconds. Forgot Kentucky and New Hampshire.
US Level 9 - 94% in 259 seconds. Confused Vermont with New Hampshire, missized North Dakota, and just got Wyoming wrong.
South America Level 9 - 90% in 242 seconds. Nicaragua and Honduras are hard to recognize.
South America Capitals level 3 - 100% in 54 seconds
Oceania Level 2 - 86% in 53 seconds. Tuvalu, Wallis and Futuna, and Wake Island got me.

Nonsense. Both contain sea ports that give them contact to the outside world. The only cosmopolitan thing Thuringia has ever produced are American-style school shootings.

But, as a totally random fact, Thuringia is the only Eastern state I've ever visited. :yeah:

I have only heard of Thuringia because I read 1632 by Eric Flint, it's involves a town accidentally going back to 1632. It's a good read; I recommend it and the rest of the series.

Yeah... CNN...

Apparently, Strassburg was, is and will ever be a German city, Marla.

I don't really mind a computer game being messed up (due to font-size issues perhaps??), but CNN mistaking Switzerland and Czechy or placing French cities all over Europe...

Maybe a mistake is sooner made than we all think. On a bad day, we might all do such dumb things.

Another fun thing with maps in history books (or in computer games) is that several 20th century dikes and gained lands in the Netherlands appear on maps about earlier periods in time.

Another test for you guys to test your Geography knowledge. However, i suggest attaching a screenie when posting your score, as there are 30-40 cities that the game as to work with, but you only have 12 for each time you play. My top score so far was just over 120,000.

That map could be different to fit the game or something. I dunno.
It really amazes me how ignorant people my age are about geography.

My score was:

North King -> :mad: :goodjob: I'm 36.

I did better on the Canada map than on the US map, and I'm from the states.

I guess that's because most of Canada's provinces fit in like a jigsaw puzzle.

That's what happens when you make the provinces so big

Okay I'm fallible.

I got 98% (49 states on 50). I've missed Delaware at the beginning. Average error is about 10 miles.

I saw this at another forum. I was actually suprised so many people didn't get Delaware of all places.

BTW, I did pretty good on the Europe one, except when it was empty (I put Hungary too far west). I think they gave me decent margin of error for places like Lichenstein.
