DoF Bug?

I noticed this while playing last night. I was keeping track of my DoFs using the new counter under global politics. I had several occasions where I would be down to 5-10 turns until the DoF expired so I would ask the AI to renew. The AI would sometimes decline with "Sorry, not right now" or something like that, which got me kind of sad because I thought, "Oh great, Catherine's going to backstab me in a little bit." However, when I looked at the counter it was back up to 50 turns. Has anyone else noticed this? I also noticed that the DoF counter would show negative turns for expired friendships (such as DoF -42 turns remaining).

Are these bugs or features?

I have the negative counter bug, but I haven't been abe to figure out if it affects only the counter or it reflects a bug in the diplomacy as well.

Was going to ask about the negative turn expiration modifiers as well. I'm assuming this is a bug or does this mean the situation is permanent unless some diplomatic event takes place?

Now that I'm aware of the issue, I'll start tracking whether these negative expiration counts ever really do expire.

Thanks for the information, my searches for "negative turns" didn't produce your thread. It didn't occur to me it was a game speed issue. I play at epic usually, and was in the context of my screenshot above. It works sometimes though (especially in the early game when global politics haven't complicated yet), but as your post says, it may be other declarations and relations with leaders that throws the counter off.

There's a good amount of mods to search through, but I believe this is what you're referring to.

Yes, that is the mod post (also available through Steam), but the other post pointed at the BUG report thread and its explanation.

The bug is solely related to the code using a fixed variable instead of their gamespeed-scaled variable, nothing else, and does not affect anything but the counter itself.
