Don't buy Company of Heroes!

How in the world did you not know? Anyway, I did buy it for fifty and although the treviews say otherwise, even for an RTS its gets stale very quickly.

Company of Heroes has been getting some pretty fantastic reviews (all of which making it clear it's a RTS :p ). From what I've seen, I'd agree with them.

I'm not that big a fan of WW2 RTS though. As much as I love Panzers, for some reason I just don't find myself coming back to it.

YOu tought it was an FPS? AHhaah, what made you think that? I have it but havent really played it in the last days, i dont know why. For some reason it just dosnt compell me to come back. Dunno why.

maybe he thought it was a FPS due to the copious amount of similar WW2 FPS games that come out

i've heard good things about it but I probably wouldn't buy it, just sent £80 on Saints row and Dead Rising, I'm good for the month

How can you just go out and buy a game without checking it out or anything? That's just plain stupid. Especially if you cant return the game.

I love WW2 and such. However, the WW2 FPS games have been copy after copy. WW2 RTS isn't much better, but I love Company of Heroes. (Didn't get it though) C'mon, it was made by Relic, creators of Warhammer 40K!

New game ideas: WW1, American Revolution, Mesopotamia, Korean War, Spanish Conquisidors, Holy Roman Empire, Hundred Year War, English Civil War, etc. :p

I just got it and I thought it was Ok. Quite good actually, slower than your average RTS. I can't handle something like empire earth, even though I tried, but CoH seems OK to me. Some decent strategy, although the enemy don't seem to counterattack as much as they should.

Not a big fan of RTS's but I'm happy with it! (Perhaps my RTS 'noobitude' is why I'm happy with it?)

I've played it for a few days now and I think it's excellent. It starts well but after a few levels it gets much much better. I think you should give it another go; if you had expected it to be an RTS, you would probably not have been disapointed. :)

yes I did, and there is nothing to indicate that it is an RTS game.

I knew it was an RTS, but then again I played the demo. I hate RTS's, but this game is great.

Award-winning Relic Entertainment delivers the next generation in real time strategy gaming.

That's the first sentence on the back of my box. :D

I love the game. I keep switching teams. Trying new strategies. If you get bored make up strategies to stick to. Like no APC's or armor and play as the americans. Make 3 man sniper teams and destroy enemy AT squads and inf sections. If you don't use a certain unit enough or at all play a skirmish with the sole idea of trying to utilize that unit. I learned a lot by doing that.

You see, that's the difference between you and I. You enjoy challenges and don't mind losing a lot. Me on the other likes a challange as long as I win more often than not.

Though that is a good idea.

But I won over 90% of the time :p CoH sin't like other RTS i've tried. Trying new things or doing the unexpected can be good. I won against the computer on the hardest setting last night when I stopped trying to capture points and let the computer have all of them. I collapsed back to my base and defended with some infantry and AT units while my tanks rushed their base to destroy their buildings. I won and I didn't even own one position.

That's absolutely hilarious - you can probably get full price for it by selling it on eBay - that game is absolutely incredible and one of the best WWII RTS's ever!

But what's hilarious is that a friend of mine thought it was an FPS when he saw the website's splash screen until I told him to look a little deeper and realize what it actually is.

As incredibly silly as your mistake was, I can't help but wonder if you bought the Collector's Edition - to be fair to you, if you really thought it was an FPS you might be excused for thinking that - although the screenshots on the back of the silver case mean you must've thought it's an FPS where you can float above the battlefield (as a paratrooper, I imagine)? ;)
