Hi,

I feel that C2C has gone "off the rains" in a number of areas. So I will be leaving the team and working on my on mod. I will probably use the C2C dll as a basis for it.

Before I go there are a few things that I will finish.

- the Mesopotamian/Zoro wonder changes requested by hotrodlincoln
- deep sea terrain including fixing the ocean pollution to the new terrains and
- merging the mine warfare mod by Orion Veteran.

I am going to need some help with that as I think the mission, outcomes and property may all be needed.

I just thought I should give you warning. It has been coming on for quite awhile.

Please don' leave Dancing Hoskuld!! Us modders got to stick together! Your features make C2C great and we really need your skills. How will we do the Galactic Era if you are not there to help add the terrains for them? You have so many good ideas and are so talented!!

What is it that you don't like about C2C? Is it the city size limitations for buildings? Because if you are leaving because of that I will remove them to get you to stay. :(

Also what the disease system you wanted to do? I was looking forward to that for a long time.

Please don't leave the team Dancing Hoskuld!! It would not be the same without you!:cry::cry:

One mod to rule them all (and in the darkness bind them - so you can't leave!! [please])

Hey DH, there was so much progress lately, can't imagine what you mean with "off the rains" Maybe it's the pace of it that makes you angry or tired? Although I can't say I want you to do it, sometimes having a break for some days or weeks is quite good to come back strong and full of ideas...
Perhaps a little autum/winter depression on the way? - could be even worse with the northern hemisphere getting into the mood of spring -

Whatever it is, just wanted to say please stay or at least come back when you have to leave :(

Please don't leave, the team really likes your work! What so you think we've 'gone off the rails' on anyway? It can't be large enough to split off and start your own mod, we all work better as a group than individually anyways.

I 1,000,000,000% percent agree with this:goodjob: You got to have a  Hoskuld;);) in C2C.

C2C wouldn't be the same, if you're leaving! We all understand that we're sometimes sick and tired... but don't you think we can talk about it? Just tell us your opinion about what annoys you and all are willing and wanting to find a compromise... we don't want you to leave!!! Look what we've done so far and imagine how far we can get - but noone really wants to go that way without you.

Nobody can imagine a C2C without the fabulous DANCING HOSKULD! :(

:(Please, dont go. This mod is the best was civilization since start is happen and whitout you is the team not more the same. Take rest and time, but dont leave..:(

I agree. Dancing Hoskuld Please don't go!!!

I take full responsibility for encouraging everyone to push the limits of what you can do.
I love what you have personally created here, along with the great team of creators, and players like myself who adore your care and efforts.

When a person reaches, occasionally their feet do leave the ground.
Please stay the course and let your natural tendency to focus, version to version, build those rails.
I bet everyone would pull together and address your concerns.
I certainly am willing to help in any way I can.

To me Cavemen2Cosmos is the heartbeat of the current Civilization community.
The future of C2C is just starting to be realized, the ideas are loose because they are evolving.
Once these ideas crystallize and the vision of C2C becomes apparent, C2C will have a solid vision of where it is heading, it will gain a more steady sense of progress, and the space elevator to the stars will have its solid foundation in the stability that you help bring.

I say this is the moment of C2C's and civilization's greatest test. Do not give up on that.
You mod here because you love Civilization and seeing what more can be created.
You will benefit greatly from participating in seeing what C2C becomes. Please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I suspect that to some degree, you have a stake in seeing that baby get born, correctly. C2C can still become something great. It is becoming more than an expanded Prehistoric Era right now! How much can you inspire the next Civilization in the near future?

At any point along the way, would you have been sad if another team member had left? Frankly, it would not be the same without you. They need you, like we all need you to stay. Stay the course of change and momentum, and please please make C2C your own.

If I could speak for everyone here, I would say that spirit of C2C is to listen to each other, and make changes, for the purpose of making C2C better. We all want the best C2C there can be.
I promise that there are signs that C2C can realize something amazing. What would you like to see?

At any time, anyone of you can strike out on your own, and start the pursuit of your own dreams. Please explore your ideas together, through here. One person can only reach so far. Society was based on the idea of two people working together to reach farther. Only by working through others and overcoming the challenges of accomplishing something together can you multiply your efforts. C2C is already your community, willing to listen to you to get things accomplished. It is growing to help you do so. C2C will eventually realize itself and give you room (and help) to pursue the next step. C2C is just taking off. You have already gone so far. Please give it a chance to lift it's wings and become something greater.

I argue that the best thing that you all can do to stay the course with C2C is to seek out old and new modders to help with your pursuit. Learn how to work with others, and your community will respond by helping you reach your goals. You can build your team for the future today! I think C2C is already becoming the perfect community mod, and already is the next version of Civilization, because of the way that you Dancing Hoskuld, and your amazing teammates have embraced change, working with others, and sharing a vision. Who can you all inspire to join with you?
You inspired me. I hope you can hear me and everyone else clearly.

Sincerely,
rightfuture,
Andrew Stroup

C2C needs you :)

Thanks for your words, rightfuture. You spoke out what we're thinking.

And yes, DH, you inspired me and us to think further. Let us be your arms and legs to reach your goals.

:)

I agree with all the above. Even the other modders are willing to change some aspects of the game if you're not satisfied with or like it. That says a lot for your contribution to this mod.

Please stay. If for nothing else then to have a good playerbase that can test your new things that you want in your own mod.

Cheers

Aw, bummer... :(

Dancing Hoskuld put a lot of work into making this module what it is. He responded almost immediately to my wonder suggest and set to work straight away implementing it. That sort of attitude is a rare thing, something the world would be better for if we all had it.

That being said, if DH wants to leave the mod to pursue his own dreams, more power to him. I'm sure that whatever else he puts out will also be good.

Hows this, if you can figure this "WEB" out, in five minutes or less, well then, if not, oh well. . . . (without cheating:mischief:)

no "I" in team?

Thanks for all the support everyone. Hopefully DH will see that he is loved and needed on the C2C team. I mean when I first joined I never thought him and I would get along. Yet over time we have made some amazing stuff. Much of the time on the same page. And even if we are not he always has some great insight into why. This is one reason why I would hate for him to leave. His way to counter balance me is invaluable to thinking up new and creative features for C2C.

In short please stay DH. You are not just another team member to me, you are my friend and I have truly enjoyed the conversions and debates we have had. So thanks buddy.

Why's he leaving? Does anyone know why he thinks C2C has "gone off the rains"? I think there are a few area's I personally would change things but these small area's are not enough to make me think the whole project isn't progressing in the right general direction.

Personally I don't like the start date or the megafauna area but it's easy to remove or change these area's for my own personal version of the mod!

Hope he changes his mind.

I also would like to hear what Dancing Hoskuld thinks 'has gone off the rails' .
I bet that we care about addressing those concerns.
I simply want the best civilization experience possible and for a long time, C2C will be it.
It is the ultimate community mod, I hope it does grow, evolve and change.

It could lead and inspire the next Civilization. It certainly is making more progress than anything else will. I bet if we follow through with C2C's momentum, to some degree we will have a part in designing it. Test your ideas here. And invite people, who know what a heck of a dream team we already have, and what one we could make. Just look at what amazing progress and calculated ambition has already brought C2C, now just imagine where it could take everyone if we all joined in, stayed the course, and helped, for the love of Civilization!
Spread the word and together we can see it happen.

It may never be perfect, but the goal is to keep making it better.
I think plausible science fiction ideas, and ambitious exploration of the future (and the past) is what makes C2C interesting.
(fantasy, and non-plausible ideas that could be fun to play, should be left as toggleable/configurable/optional)
Make the controversial and disputed stuff optional, and keep working on what can be agreed on. It can still be tested, discussed, and changed.
Make room for everyone who has something to offer. Find common ground to keep the project from forking.
Please let us all come together and refocus on making C2C the best it can be!!!

What If? is the ultimate question to explore. Nothing does it better than Civilization IV and nothing explores the boundaries of what can be possible to make it better like C2C.
We have to learn how to agree, and get over our differences, because the result is worth it. We need C2C as a community focus to multiply our efforts.
Stick with the promise and momentum of C2C, the wings are just starting to fly and it can't help but bang into a few things as the promise starts to show. Don't let the promise of something better (or worse) end it's flight; build it in! What we find is possible now, will be better and more possible once it achieves flight. Keep the faith! :)

Please stay with us Dancing Hoskuld!!! Your team, like you, wants to make it better:)

what does "off the rains" mean ?

It means that I missed the "l" and hit the "n" key by mistake it should have been "off the rails" as in what trains do when they go wrong. Sometimes it is minor and sometimes it is a wreck.

One task almost complete. Two to go.
