I suggest we don't tell anymore what our score and finishing date is when we end the GOTM, starting from GOTM V (next). I think it's important that other people can't compare their scores while playing.
And it's also much more not to have the slightest idea how others did until you see the results.

B.t.w.: this would also give me something more to do as moderator. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/tongue.gif" border=0>

Ha ha.

Well, as i was playing GOTM4, i was really REALLY i mean REALLY interested in how the games for the other guys were going.
IF, by some chance, that level of suspense could be left until the very very very end, when Mr. Matrix announces the nominnes and the award winners.....

.......

.......

......

i would piss in my pants.

but it would be cool.

I agree completely.

And while on the subject of scoring, I do have one request for you, Matrix. (I'M always happy to give you more to do as a moderator, as per your request

)

Could you post, along with each GOTM, a simple GOTM score table for dummies? Sort of what Stormerne did for GOTM IV, with a list of dates and the corresponding multiplier?

I've been trying to figure out my score, and getting really weird numbers by following the formula that's posted in the GOTM Rules section. I know it's totally due to my being 'special' in math, but I'm sure there are others out there who are the same...

I've done a spreadsheet for GOTM #5 or any complete Prince level game.
It does assume the dates/turns in "Scrolls of Wisdom" are correct!

To calculate your GOTM score, simply find the row for the year you finished on the table (1st column).
Alongside that you will find a "Multiplier" (3rd column) and a "Divisor" (4th column).
EITHER multiply your Civ score (NOT the percentage) by the Multiplier OR, if you prefer, divide it by the Divisor.
That's all there is to it.

The Prince level speadsheet is here...
...or here as a web page.

Try it again.
There are two links now:
* spreadsheet in XL format;
* web page in HTML format.
