Donut Problem?

I've recently been playing the "donut" map with one of my friends on a LAN, and in two games on "large", we haven't seen the shade of the oil ressource.
Why is this? Is there no oil in the donut map? Is it because of the "No jungle" option we have toggled on?

Unfortunately, this map has a nasty sideeffect to certain options. You will get no oil whatsoever on this map if:

Jungles are turned off, and you do not have desert in the center region, and resources are set to standard.

If any one of these options are different, you will receive oil somewhere on the map. For some reason, turning off jungles will also remove oil from the oceans, UNLESS you have desert in the centre. Balanced resources will ensure spots of oil no matter the other settings.
