1225 (1) – Amsterdam grows the the GL is now due in 29.

1200 (2) – Utrecht harbor->worker.

IBT – Iroquois start the Pyramids.

1175 (3) – Damn, some civs have gotten Map Making. Portugal is only offering 76 gold! Take it. The only other person who we can trade it to is the Inca, but they can only offer 12 gold. Decide to wait on them, see if they get more gold. If they get MM some other way, oh well! 12 gold isn’t much of a loss.

Unload the settler/archer pair on the iron island and find a tiny lake in the center! It’s a doughnut!

1125 (5) – Rotterdam settler->archer. Found Eindhoven on the iron, start on harbor (EDIT: Whoops, sorry, didn’t see your comment about 1 S of iron, slinger).
Groningen is connected.
I’d like to settler E-NE of Groningen to create a really nice canal. I’m not sure if it’s worth settling so close to Groningen, though. I decide to settle farther away, since there’s always N-NW of Leptis Minor (Carthage) for a canal.

1100 (6) - :sleep:

IBT – Barb galley attacks our galley and does nothing.

1075 (7) – Hague worker->worker. Oh, Amsterdam grew 2 turns ago, I believe. It brought the GL down to about 20 turns. Currently, Am’ makes 11 spt, and the GL is due in 18.
Lower Sci to 80%, CoL due in 2, +3 gpt.

1050 (8) – Curragh by ice island heads E on a suicide mission…again. Drop Sci to 70%, gaining another gpt, CoL due in 1.

IBT – CoL in, start on Republic @ 100%, due in 32 with –3 gpt.

1025 (9) – Uh…scratch that. I have to raise lux to 10% to keep Am’ from rioting. Republic due in 29 now, though. The GL is due in 15 w/12 spt.
Settle Arnhem on the northern Dye, grabbing both.
Curragh survives but still sees no land.

1000 (10) – Groningen worker->worker (can be changed, but we’ll need a lot to clear the jungle).
Curragh survives again, but still sees no land.

There’s a curragh up by the northern Babylonian cities. He’s heading south to explore that island west of Uruk.
A curragh is by Utrecht and is heading SE to check out that island SW of Carthage land. He could also stay and wait for another settler to found by the GH on the iron island. That way we don’t pop barbs (thanks Tubby for that info, btw ;) ).
Four workers are unmoved. They should probably start clearing jungle.
 
I don't know when I'll be able to play. My folks are coming into town. I have a laptop with civ at work that I might be able to squeeze out 10 turns. I'll let you know more tomorrow.

On the last IT Hannibal demanded 31 gold. Since we want war with them, I refused....he declared. I hope that this is ok.

1- kill a carthage warrior. some archers were on automove....

2- move units forward. probably a mistake.

ibt- portos want us to join fighting the inca. no.
we trade an archer for a warrior. it was a mistake.

3- fortify those 2 remaining warriors. wait for troops to arrive.

4- the good news is the Great Bulb is ours. the bad is we lost another warrior.

well it looks like I made a mistake of not giving in for just 31 G. Sorry guys. Looks like the Delta house is on probation.
 
Ouch! Looks like the 2 archers rejecting the 31g from hannibal was a bit overzealous. WW is likely to kick in losing a town so we need to gear up for war and take Hannibal down now.
 
We're not a republic yet. So no WW. I would also switch Amsterdam to an archer <- cheaper & don't retreat.
 
That's great that we got the GL.

I agree with Tubs with switching Amsterdam to an archer. With all the jungle and forests around, horses won't be much help until we can start attacking those Carthage desert cities, which isn't in the near future.
