Doughnut Files Term 7 - 9

Draft

Doughnuts

Well finally your dealings are made transparent. What no explanation offering excuses to breaking your word and trading technologies with KISS ???

I guess it is very difficult to fabricate these things eh?

Nevermind we have been aware of your untrustfulness (is that a word ???) for some time now.

Never fear, we unlike others will honour our word. But answer me this ... If one signatory breaks a section of an Agreement, does that not render the entire document null and void?

Sincerely

Feaurius III
MIA Foreign Minister.

I know it will probably not be sent, but ... I'd like to send something :(

Gosh they are cheeky those Nutters

EDIT ... Here is a link to the Agreement it lives in the Vault of Precious Things ... where we keep all things including the first thing ever received from TNT :groucho:

Actually - I think we should send something almost exactly like that - whether or not we decide to attack them.

the least we can do is put a little fear into those slimey rats.

I don't know if we should send it right now. At the moment our goal is to get the freshly "liberated" KISS cities up and running, clearing jungle and railroading, in addition to building the at least some of the wonders that will be available shortly.

Right now the nutters know that it's going to come to a show down between them and us, and sending that letter (or any other in my opinion), will only increase the chance that they will declare war now when we don't need it. Remember that they have been building up to while this whole war has been going on, and will have much more of an army on their home contenant than KISS had. They already have fear, and taunting them will do little to further our cause.

I really can't see the Dnuts attacking us. They are still weak compared to us, and they must realize an attack is suicide.
If not – let them come… because it IS suicide, and I'll be happy to clear out a bunch of their military for them.

Threatening them DOES help us… because if they feel threatened enough, they'll have to divert shields and money into military units.
Dnuts have gotten away with a shell of a military for far too long. The more threatened they feel, the more military units they'll build. The more units they build… the less likely they'll ever be able to catch us in tech or wonders.

I say make those suckers sweat a little!!!

What if we started a propaganda campaign to try to encourage Dnuts to attack us?

I have one point to make (of course!)

Be very careful with that last line - I'm tempted to delete it. If they think that we might declare war, seeing the whole document as null and void, they might declare on us first and take Eureka Stockade.

Of course, they may also do something stupid like send an invasion force :)

But we should be prepared for them to shred the peace part of the agreement if you inlcude that last line.

The word you're looking for in the letter is "untrustworthiness" - unless you were just going for effect with that line?

Also – I disagree with Peter – the last line is the most important line in the whole letter.

And if they're going to attack us just based on a line in a letter – then I'd think the one where we accuse them of being liars would do the job anyway.

The only place the Nuts can realistically hurt us is at Eureka Stockade. It'd be sad to lose it – but we'd be no worse off than the Nuts. We'd be exactly equal in luxuries, as a matter of fact.
If they declare on us, we should get some War Happiness, and we'll be safe from any Dnut spying.

All considered – if all they do is attack Eureaka Stockade – this gambit will be a push.
However – if they panic and build a lot of military… we win! (or if they stupidly invade, we win again!)

So – I still say… let's put the screws to them!!

I'm also in favour of the last line ... especially wrt killercane's profession.

I will send something off in 8 hours-ish

So plenty of the for ammendments to be posted.

Why wait? If we're happy with it, send it off :)

I may have sounded severe in my trepidation about the last line - I just want to make sure that everyone understands the consequences.

But then again, it was DNUTs themselves who reminded MIA that we're still supposed to remain peaceful, so I may have been fidgeting over nothing :)

OK sent to g-mail and Robi :salute:

added Gen_W's word ... I love english language ;)

Let's wait for the fireworks ... I'm thinking it won't be long for a reply ... just in time to counter with a cartoon :mischief:

and I almost fell off my chair at the unexpected dilligence and until now, unheard of swiftness of the Nutter Foreign Offices' postal system ... they have replied :wow:

MIA,

Why should i sit hear and make excuses when the agreement was not broken.

As for untrustworthiness, people in glass houses should not throw stones. Don't think the fact escaped us that you continued to send TNT assistance during our war with them during the term of our treaty. Unlike you we don't look for loop hole in treaties we make, so excuse us for not holding your "honour" in high regard.

Robi D
Foreign Minister, Doughnutia

Interesting aside ... :mischief: this line that they quoted back to us in their initial responce ...

We are well aware of your feelings towards us, i believe Fe is familiar with these words.
Oh and PS.
We are unhappy, and frustrated, by your recent dealings with the "Dark Side" across the water
Was never made public in the UN

I still don't think we need to be concerned about an invasion. We can easily defeat any troops that land on our continent. What we need to do is stay focused on defense and our path to flight and space victory.

There was nothing in the treaty regarding TNT and in fact we were assisting them against KISS ... they just happened to follow the oppertunistic approach of attacking while TNT were busy with KISS' April Fool's gambit.

I wonder if a 'war of letters' may benefit us :mischief: ... the Nuts may get so angry that they end up making a stretegic mistake.

A strategic mistake would be great for MIA :)

Let's take a day and come up with a sharp one:

MIA and Doughnutia did not have any agreement which prevented MIA from engaging in exchanges with TNT. Stop your bluster unless you are ready to come clean about your dealings with KISS.

or something along those lines :)
