Download before release?

Do you think we will be able to download Civ before the launch? A lot of major companies let you download ahead of time so there is less stress during launch.
 
At which time exactly is the release btw?

20 hours ago they said on Facebook that preload is coming soon so I guess it's tomorrow/on Wednesday.
 
I hope someone sets up a preload torrent.



Cause unfortunately I bought on Amazon (had a gift key) physical and that gets only shipped on friday ;(
 
I talked to the guys and gals at gamesplanet.de and they told me that they already know when preloading will start and that I would probably receive the steam key tonight (i.e. the next four to five hours, where I live).

Edit: Just received my key :)

The preload button is available for me now. Downloading it right now. (In California.)

Edit: Having a Mac, I hope it actually IS the version that's downloading.
 
Hmm. That was an awfully quick download. It says it was 22 MB.

I believe that some people living on the West Side mentioned that according to their Steam page Civilization VI will be available von October 20th, while some people living further to the east said that Steam says it will be available on October 21st, which is why 00:00AM CST is the likely world wide release.

Most likely not a worldwide release. They mentioned unlock times, plural, so that makes me think it's a staggered release, like XCOM2.
Edit: On the other hand, you could read it as a worldwide release as every local time is different.

It's preloading now as of 10:25 Pacific Standard Time!

I have preloaded it, but cant find the folder, thought that if you find it you could extract the mp3 files to listen to the music, would be nice to hear the whole intro song! can some one share that if they find it?
