DPII's Unit Previews

Actually, I think a light colored tunic would be better. All the pictures I've seen seem to have thart (I'm not sure why, but all the Mediteranian type people usually do). Maybe the color that his sleaves are currently would work.

Oye... I've been working on the Balearic Slinger's attack. I decided to get fancy with it and it's extremely frustrating.... it's just painful. It's like having dental surgery done on me with a rusty nail... :twitch:

Ok... here's what I got. It's good... it's good enough to be used in Civ3... but I'm still not quite satisfied. I think that the throw should be a little more intense....

Btw, any of my esteemed colleagues here want to help me out... I need to find this... it's like a building with huts on top of it. I need photos or at least better paintings than this. Something that looks real. At least tell me what it is... hehe

The bigger the picture, the better. I'd like wallpaper size if possible.

Well, about that slinger, I think it would be better if he throws his arm forward when throwing. I mean really forward, not just a bit forward as it's now. :) He should point thattaway...

I agree with mrtn, more of a follow-through with his arm, also his foot seems to come too far forward, kinda like he's kicking something :crazyeye:

EDIT: which direction is the anim for, he seems to be looking south but throwing west :crazyeye:

Well, he starts off SW, he winds up and pitches it SW, but he's basically looking south when his body extends to it's fullest...

And I've increased his swing a little bit more and brought his foot back when i was working on it earlier.

Like I said before, I was in agreement with you guys, I really wanted him to launch this sucker.

As I promised, I'm going to make a Forest Elephant for my friends here who are very fond of the Ancient era... I need some advice for this guy...

Looks good. Both, the rider and the elephant. Could you show us a animated preview? I think it's much easyer comment animations than static pics from an animated unit.

put a howda on its back, and put two long spear-men in it

Xen, this is meant to be the smaller "forest elephant" the Carthaginians used as described elsewhere (a link to the thread Louis or Amenhotep if you could)... not the bigger ones with the howdahs and multiple riders with spears and bows.
