Dr. Strangeciv or: Will Civ 6 Learn to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb?

I don't believe such an emergency exists in this game.
But then again, not everything wiki says is necessarily true. I have yet to see such an emergency myself.

This emergency does exist. Since AI hardly build nukes before game ends and hardly nuke others, you will most likely see this emergency in a game with a later starting era, or if you try hard to be the nuclear warmonger.

I experienced this emergency once when decided to choose an Information Era start for fun. Teddy nuked Wilfrid into oblivion within 50 turns for some reason, and this emergency was filed in the next World Congress.

I had the nuke emergency declared on me. I launched one for fun at Qin (he totally deserved it) while I was waiting for the spaceship. Almost got wiped off the map by AI GDRs when they all banded against me.

Never seen CivVI AI use nukes. Only used them myself for whatever the achievement that required them was called. They were great for smashing massed armies in the era of unit-stacks, and I seem to remember even in CivV you would still see massive concentrations of AI troops milling around in small areas. But even mucking about in late game eras I don't think nukes are worth the hassle for this version.

I have never seen a nuke blast in civ 6. I've seen the silo in military engineers as well as airstrips but I hardly use them. I didn't really need or hardly seen the AI build Manhattan but I did have to protect myself sometimes. AI could attack at such random times.

I have seen AI use nukes, just never on me and never efectively. It is one of my big dissapointments with the game.

I had Monty repeatedly nuke my capital during a Vanilla game way back when. Haven't seen it since.

Seen AI use it once in 1400 hours. It was an emperor game where Trajan's aggression went through the roof, somehow. He started on the other continent from me, conquered nearly all of it before I even discovered him, and flew ahead on both science and culture. Was very impressive overall, and he did top it off by launching a nuke onto my invading army, disembarking in the one city state I allied on his land mass.

Never been nuked, in Civ VI. Was in V, I remember, although it could've been IV - point being it happened once and I was stunned!

Bring back "Our words are backed by NUCLEAR weapons". It was brilliant. :crazyeye:

Given the state of the AI it might be a good thing they don't go on a rampage nuking size 2 cities in the ice

Typically if my games run long (deity) the AI pumps out so many GDR they have the insufficient uranium debuff. So even if they wanted to, I doubt they could build nukes.

Almost got wiped off the map by AI GDRs when they all banded against me.

You mean the AI used GDRs effectively? That's almost as surprising as the AI using nukes. In my last game I had an emergency declared after taking the Persian capital. Russia marched in with 4 GDRs against my one. I almost thought I was in trouble but for some reason the AI only uses the melee attack on cities instead of the beam, damaging the GDR more than the city. And then fleeing because low health.

No grievances or negative diplo modifier 'you nuked our friend',
Yet another weirdness left in the game, Oh China nuked Taiwan, so what.
Saying that the world has come a weird place where it is sort of becoming expected.
