So you did it already. There's no point for me to meddle with it then. :)

Why the sudden hated?

I'm currently studying traditional 2d animation at vocational school, but the last year has gone completely fubar(This year isn't starting any better). It seems that every thing I try to draw turns out utter crap(animation group project, paying customer). Honestly, I've been pretty fed up with the whole drawing thing for the last 4 months. Yep, sorry for wenting.

Well i hope the new spring brings back your vigour! :)

Skullcrusher/Tykinruoka, we all go through non-creative periods.

My advice is to by a load of cheap sketch pads, and draw, draw draw!

Take the pad around with you, especially on the bus/train...And just draw
anything you wish...Create fast sketches, slow ones and create images of
anything you think of or find cool.

Drawing is like a sport, you have to stay in practice and sometimes you have
to push through the boundaries of a bad performance patch and get back in
shape again...I know you are a truly fine artist and cartoonist, so I would say
that you should aim for as many drawings in a day as you can manage.

It matters not about the quality, it is the practice that counts.
You will feel and see the benefits very soon...

Believe me...I have been where you are!

Give it a shot dude, and I would recommend all the cool artists
here also to do the same, drawing practice is very valuable!

:)

Curt has it right - and the bulk of my drawings over the past few months has simply been little doodles every other day or so. My only real pride was 'modernising' one of my own characters from a few years back - Duck. While pleasing to me, it's nowhere near the sort of stuff I want to be doing right now.

I'd also suggest channelling any pent-up creative skills into some other product in the meantime, if there's anything that interest you. I usually start creative writing, or developing random histories and maps of alternate timelines, just so I feel happy I'm doing something. Almost bought a couple of model kits, so I could have the feeling I was at least painting something :crazyeye:

Damn fine work Curt.

I would really like to paint something, but I lack ideas. If I start doodling something without any ispiration I end up with something like this doodle here.

I did it just to show how bad it really is for me. If I lack ideas I can't force anything sensible out.

I painted something. It's a copy of a picture in "an omnipresence in wired" by ABe, the same pic as my avatar (which is now my painted version).
