Update 2
New Empires
995 B.C.E. – 990 B.C.E.
Judea has always favored expansion since the days they returned from exile. First, the Canaanites were conquered, and now the advances continue northward. Maybe, this expansion wasn’t such a good idea.
They had received an ultimatum from the cities to the north, to cease expansion or face the consequences. Judea agreed but, in a surprise advance, occupied some of the territory that these cities occupied. This move united the cities in their attempts to crush this invasion.
Though they did surprise the defenders, the cities (now known as the Cilician League) used this to their advantage, spreading propaganda about the Judean’s distaste towards honesty and civilization.
This had no effect on Judea’s population, as the government issued counter-propaganda in the form of speeches, notices, etc. This move worked, and the people felt better towards the government.
Still, Judea massively outnumbered the Cilician League, though Antioch, a major city with large defenses, stands ominously in their way. The Cilician League has to rely on many foreign mercenary contingents to balance out their smaller army.
The first major battle (actually, skirmish) achieved nothing except to prove the Judean military superiority, especially since they recently trained several regiments of infantry. The Cilicians then relied on hit and run techniques. These techniques, however, proved futile when Judea besieged Telamash, a major coastal city, in 991 B.C.E. However, the city receives foodstuffs and reinforcements from the sea, and the siege has continued.
Syria, too, has been faced with Judean expansion, though no major opposition is met. A fort-town is established at Damascus, and Judea has control of the area.

Meanwhile, in Egypt, the civil war continues. True Egypt has not entered yet, preferring to let the two sides slaughter each other first.
Upper Egypt relies almost exclusively on their Nubian mercenaries, and they do their job. An advance up the Nile threatens to end the rebellion. The Nubians are also the personal bodyguards of the priests.
Meanwhile, desertion continues. Many soldiers flee to northern Egypt, escorting civilians with them.

In North America, the Iroqui face a new, jealous enemy. They call themselves the Huron, and they are truly a barbarian menace. With their tribal capital centered around Tippecanoe, they do not value education or knowledge. All they are concerned with are killing enemies.
Luckily, they have been more focused with peoples to the east than the Iroqui. But, that is going to change.
However, back at home, the population has been increasing at a steady rate, and the routes built recently have begun to thrive.

Gojoseon has continued expansion. A port to the southeast has been acquired, which has greatly aided trade with the Yan. This leads to an overall economy boost. However, the city is isolated, in unknown territory, though for now it is safe.
The bandits, meanwhile, have tried hit and run attacks, which have caused some damage, but the sight of Yan and Gojoseon militaries sent them fleeing into unfamiliar territory.
Buddhism has finally been accepted by the people in Gojoseon, and as a result the people are more caring about their religion.
Northward, there seems to be no sign of these “devil warriors” that Yan has feared. However, maybe they are further to the west.
South, a barbaric people are discovered, the Koreans. They are militaristic, with little care for education or infrastructure, though they have not attacked Gojoseon yet.
-O.O.C.: Gojoseon: +economy, +size, +fanaticism, -1 Infantry
The Maya have been expanding as well, adding new southern territories to their nation. Also, a rare mineral, jade, has been discovered, and though internal trade the Mayans have grown richer.
West, in the Olmec Empire, High Chief Moon-Jaguar (r. 1021 – 991 B.C.E.) has died. During his funeral, the Olmecs sacrifice thousands of innocent outsiders so that he may successfully enter the afterlife. Rumor has it that the Olmecs are running out of people from the west and south to sacrifice.

In Europe, a tribal chiefdom called Marathos has risen to power in Gaul. Their society is based upon the principle that the strong survive and the weak die. Their whole (comprehensive) system involves weak boys digging roads, building temples, and building walls to grow stronger, while the strong boys are trained in war. Any brigands caught are given one chance to convert; if they refuse, they die. Their criminals are given painful punishments for breaking the tribal laws.
This system may seem barbaric, but in the wild lands of Gaul every measure is taken for the people’s safety. In these lands, the weak do die.
Farming increases as the government takes every care possible to make sure the most fertile land is used correctly. Though this system has made Marathos very strong economically (compared to other nearby chiefdoms), this has also made her a lucrative target.
However, there is no real threat to the nation, and peace has reigned for many years.
The only threat, both militarily and in terms of power, is the Gar. They are centered along the coastline to the south. They have recently expanded their influence northward. Only time will tell if the two powers meet.

Mesopotamia continues to fight amongst herself, as different cities vie for dominance. Some speculate the old three cities will again rise to power.
Also, a Yan scouting party has seen the “warriors from hell” participating in strange, religion rituals. What are they doing?
