DVD in Windows Media Player

My computer came with Media Player 8 and I think the guys that built this added a codec or something so that it could play DVDs.

After I reformatted and upgraded to Media Player 9, I found out that it couldn't play DVDs anymore.

Does anyone know what I need to download to get media player to play DVDs?

If that is impossible, then are there any good 3rd party DVD players that don't expire?

InterVideo WinDVD is ok, as is InterActual.

Not that I use them, though. I use Media Player 8.

Media player 8 had it built in??? Then what kind of upgrade is media player 9? "We included a new skin but took out all the good features".

Damn Microsoft.
