e-mail notification and user-cp

I registered in this forum a few weeks back. When i did i chose "Yes" for e-mail notification when someone replied to one of the threads i had posted in. Later I changed my mind and swithced it to "No". But the result of this was not that the (numerous) e-mails stopped coming. Instead it seems that my "user-cp" (which is a great tool) stopped getting updatet (so that i didnt subscribe to new threads i posted in or even the ones i started). Can someone explain what (if) i did wrong? And also, how do i unsubscribe (if thats even a word) to a thread?

Hm... This thread made it to my user-cp. Maybe its ok after all. Ill check my email.

Well, basically, with the version of VB we're using here you can't have User-CP subscriptions and not get emails. So what you could do is set up a yahoo or hotmail account that gets the emails, and then you just go in and purge them every couple of days or so. Or, even better, set up a filter to automatically send the CFC reply notification into the trash bin. Then you shouldn't need to log on, as it will delete the trash files every couple of days.

Supposedly, there will be a feature in VB 3.0 that allows you to subscribe to threads, but not get emails for it. When this version is coming out tho. . . well. . .lets just say I'll probably win the lottery before it comes out.

@Salte - You'll need to disable email notification, for all those prev threads already tagged with it. Disabling the option in the CP will only stop notifications fr any new threads you're posting in; but will do nothing so far as the old ones are concerned...

To unsubscribe fr old ones, in the emails there's an option to disable all of them at once I believe...
