I don't remember the date, but on a tiny map, (and low difficulty level) I've once build 2 warriors and send them to the enemy capital, (leaving no defense for my own) then attacked and won.

Like I said, I don't remember the exact date, I voted 3000BC, but it could have been 2750 or something. I think my vote was justified though.

3000BC is turn 20 by the way.

I once played a game with 31 civ's on a tiny map. Took out one of my nearest neighbor's undefended capital by 3700 BC or so.

In recent memory I destroyed the Russians in under 10 turns (I don't remember exactly how many) with a lucky warrior attack.

Looking at the games I've submitted to the HoF (and I'm not even close to best players):

Large Warlord--killed six AI by 10 BC
Standard Chieftain--killed four AI by 2470 BC
Standard Monarch--killed four AI by 90 BC
Tiny Regent--killed two AI by 2270 BC

I also played a Tiny Chieftain 3cc "100k" game, where I captured an AI capital in 2550 BC.

If you start a game with Warrior Code, you can be out there and getting it done very, very early.

At lower levels, if you build a archer instead of a warrior (Presuming you have warrior code at start) you can usually kill the defendant which will be (most of the times) a warrior and eliminate them.

At higher levels its not possible

But if you can take a city (or 2) you can give yourself a good boost from the Pointy Stick University. they may not be gone but they can be smarting for a while.

There's a Monty Python sketch that features a Military PT instructor who only teaches his men how to defend themselves against enemies who are armed with fresh fruit. One of the recruits want to know how they should defend themselves against men armed with pointed sticks. Just when they think they've done all the fruits, the instructor realises they haven't done the banana.

About 8-12 turns in I found Hannibal with a warrior guarding his only city so I attacked it with my warrior and won  He only had 1 warrior but it was regent.

And after all the discussion in this thread, Kumquat posts. Hannibal's warrior needs to go to PSU.

Kumquat is a known builder, and if he kicks an AI's butt militarily, that AI needs to go to school.
