Megalomaniac
ON higher levels you have serious happiness problems, so increasing your population results in more unhappiness, forcing you to use entertainers, which means less people working, which means no benefit in production. Most cities are capped at 6 anyway for a long time, so granaries are useless. Once I can build aqueducts I usually have universities/cathederals to build straight afterward, and before I know it the city is capped at 12 again, so Granaries are again useless.
Therefore, I only really build granaries in 3 cases:
- capital, to act as settler factory.
- cities with slow food growth (hills, desert)
- cities size capped at 12 and city has nothing left to build.
Let the AI build the Pyramids, I'll just take it away from him sooner or later (hopefully sooner).
