Earth map and ranged units

Possibly an FAQ, in which case flame away, but will Civ V have an Earth Map mode and if so what size of actual body of water will I be able to fire my arrows over? English Channel? Gulf of Mexico?

And they will only be able to fire once every 50 years.

There'll most likely be an earth map. There hasn't been a Civ without it. Arrows fly 2 tiles based on the screenshots we've seen so far. This should be enough for a single tile of water (like the lakes shown in one of the screenshots). It is not known if archers are allowed to fire over a sea if it's just one tile wide, though. Both allowing and disallowing that could be defended.
