Ebgames release date changed!

be skeptical.... those stores have NO incentive whatsoever to tell the truth; most of these dates are just estimates, and it is routine for stores to push back release dates. They know that by setting early release dates, they can attract more pre-orders. It pisses me off. And this includes Gamestop (having been burned by them before).
 
well...I would be skepticall if they didn't change their date, come up with box art(considering this morning they didn't have it), and have the following info:
Pre-order and receive the Civilization IV Pre-Order Edition!

* Pre-order customers only will receive the following: Collector’s case: Navy blue "leatherette" bookshelf case embossed with the Civilization IV logo.
* CD Soundtrack: Containing original compositions by Christopher Tin (http://christophertin.com/news.html) and Jeffrey Briggs (composer of Civilization II), as well as classical pieces throughout the ages.
* Keyboard template: A die-cut keyboard layout for quick reference to keyboard commands during the game.
* Tech Tree map: A foldout poster that displays the tech tree for ease of reference. A tech tree is a path you need to take with your scientific research in the game in order to reach certain goals. I don't have any reason to doubt it at this point. The only thing I can hope is that they are wrong and it comes our earlier ;)
 
ouch! $50. I wonder if the release will bring a better price. The pre-order stuff is interesting but really non-essential.

Yeah, and people who pre-ordered before the update did get the free upgrade to the preorder package automatically (or at least, I did).

That's only 37,5 € ... I think that's a fair price.
Although I have a gut feeling we'll be paying 49 € or 62 $ for the exact same thing :mad:
 
Dang, I just checked there website yesturday...

I think I might pre-order through them because with pre-ordering through Amazon I didn't get my extra thing.
 
Is there going to be an European version of the "Limited Edition"?

There was one for Pirates! and it turned out to be a better deal than the American version (whereas the normal version in Europe was worse than the normal version in the US/Canada).
 
No, I read some where, i forget where, that its was a US only special pre-order edition. also to address the price, most new games cost 50$ (especialy for console) and i doubt the one with out the special stuff will cost any less, thats why its a special offer, also i wouldnt count on the price droping for some time
 
Phew, it has indeed gone back to 11/15/05... I see this as a good thing, maybe Firaxis was able to plead their case to Take 2 that Civ 4 needed a extra few weeks after all...

IF people that pre-ordered get theirs 2 weeks LATER than when the game appears on the shelves
... nah, they wouldn't DARE! :mad:
