I once changed the people to what they should be but I got sickened by talking to a rather strange looking lenin.

Mao I think is a good choice but i don't know much about him eg was he evil did he do good thing for China?

Depends, do you think the culural revolution (which resulted in the deaths of numerous Confucianistic (dunno if that's a word) and Western men and women, not to mention countless raids and government sanctioned acts of vandalism). And don't forget the Great Leap Forward or Communes, both of which led to mass starvation. Overall, Mao wasn't a good guy (not to mention the fact that he was a communist and fought numerous pointless wars with his neighbors). However, he is probably the only well-known choice for China. If it hadn't been for Tianemmin (sp?) Square, Deng could have made a good choice, he was a lot more Capitilistic than Mao... anyway, they really didn't have any options.

Catherine was very important in Russian history. She literally revolutionized agriculture, education, and public health in Russia, as well, she was responsible for Russia's industrialization. Had Russia enjoyed more rulers like Catherine it would have been as succesful as Prussia or France or England.
Lenin is an equally good choice, but its really not right to say Catherine is a bad choice. She's less well-known perhaps, but it was under her reign Russia acquired most of its Western territories and developed trade and industry of a degree comparable with Western countries. Definately, she's one of Russia's most important leaders. Hence the appelation "the Great."

I still like the ability to select from at least 2 different Leaders per Civ (Male/Female)

As for Mao, don't get anyone started! He was a bad person.
Why not Chiang Kai Shek for China instead of Mao?

Why not that guy? Because he is much worse than Mao. If you are choosing him through moral grounds, consider that he maneuvered into his government position through using his father's fortunes earned through the opium trade. Also, he is a traitor.

I totally agree. Choosing Mao for China is like choosing Stalin for Russia.
Joan could have been swapped to any other face of french history ... by the way she never ruled France, nor commanded the French army - really strange choice.

NOW What Wrong with STALIN.....he's my hero!!! Lenin was also ok but STALIN was and still is one of the greatest leader that Sovjet Union/Russia has ever had.
