Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind!!!

I took over a cave where there were alchemy supplies. I didn't completely take it over as there was this bad ass fire demon like creature that would kill me in two hits, but if I stayed out of his sight I had the place to myself. The fort sounds cool though

Question:
I got attacked by a monster one time that sucked away all my strength. I was able to get away from him by clicking on a door and goign to a different room. The problem I had was that my strength never came back even after resting for a few days.......The question is, will the strength ever come back or is that a bug in the game, being stuck and not able to do anything?

Its a disease... You have to go to a temple, shrine(rectangle like boxes that when you press the action key. You pay money for a blessing, to cure the disease.), But the thing is sometimes it doesn’t work, i’d get a 'cure common disease potion' they work much better. The fort thing is good for certain reasons like you have to hire guards to guard it, so thieves don't steal your stuff...Although if you killed some useless npc, and took over its house nothing would happen. i.e. nothing would get stolen, it only happens when you have a stronghold! Which is crap.

BTW If you check your attribute section you should have one in red... instead of light blue.

Yeah, my strength was 0...I couldn't move even when I unequiped EVERYTHING!! It was very agrevating. ;)
I finally noticed that I did have one item that gave me some strength back, but if I didn't the whole game would have been lost (I saved over the save before I lost strength....I learned from that and had rotating saves).

Yeah, my strength was 0...I couldn't move even when I unequiped EVERYTHING!!
 That would be because of that damn prison thing, I have been there once and never want to go back... First off you lose all your items, I came out NAKED!!! Im guessing you got a ' You are over encumbered' Warning? In still get that at level 27, and 100 strength!!! You probably started the game as a thief, I started as a warrior nord, so it wasn’t such a big problem. But if you ever get in a bad position, Try using cheats, I know cheats get a bad wrap, like your not a good at video gaming if you use them, But I have no problem (using them) especially in situations like yours was. If it ever happens again simply open the console and type player-> setstrength 20 then you should be able to move ;)

2 questions...

1. Are their still random naked people in Inns?

2. Is the dressing up the lady fighters still a major part of the game?

:D

@ PCHighway: Thanks! I didn't lose my items...but I did get attacked by everyone in there including that beast of a guy that sapped my strength. I will keep that "cheat" in mind the next time I play.

A fan of the Elder Scrolls series are we? To answer your first question, no... Although there is a strip club, As for your second question, huh? You mean in armor? Are you talking about Daggerfall? If so where can I find these "lady fighters" ?:groucho: Are they out of the ordinary? BTW great job with your unit_32 file it’s a lot of help.:goodjob:

Pale Horse, I got tons of 'em!! Cheats that is, It's just not worth wasting 10 hours of gameplay because a diseased monster hits you. if you ever get stuck like that again bring up the console and type help you will get a loooong list of cheats like toggle sky, which makes the sky disappear! but what shocks me most is that after you type help you get the tgm (toggle god mode) cheat

And fixme which teleports you 120 video game unitsquares (or something like that) away. although it wont work for me, so I cant guarantee it. If I find away to get it working, it would be VERY helpful, all to often I have to replay a half-hour 'cause I get stuck in the graphical seems of a box.

On a off-topic note I pried myself away from Morrowind\Civ iii to go see Attack of the clones again, and unsurprisingly, it still rocks.

Does it speed up the game play because it doesn't have to render the sky??? If so that would help me A LOT!

I had the same thing happen on the dock in the first city you start in. Lucky I saved about 10 minutes ago!!

Ucky! AotC sucked, IMHO. :D

SHHHHH!!! Don't let the-now-washed-up-directing-guru-Lucas Here you say that! And yes while still to damn childish and corny, It still is Star Wars. And therefore rocks. But your right, It would have sucked, and I wouldn’t have gone unless she asked. And yes E.S.B. still reins supreme, but that last battle in AotC was unbelievable.

Did you like the first lotr movie? I thought that sucked, just wasn’t dark enough, although it is leading to that. Back to business, the toggle sky might help the speed, there’s also Toggle AI! And im sure that would help  what’s your video card? And please don’t tell me you have Win. M.E. I've heard it can really lag. Morrowind can be a little laggy, but nothing beyond the usual 'go into\outof diffrent area load.’ If it lags every time you enter battle you might want to toggle the weather. But only if its raining.

System:
Duron 750 <- that hurts
Matrox G400 Max 32MB <- This really hurts. I don't think that Matrox has put out a really good set of drivers yet for XP.
512MB of PC133 RAM <- That is plenty good, even if not as fast as PC2100 (266 DDR RAM {133*2})
Within the next few months I plan to do a modest upgrade to my computer to include proc+mobo, video. I will get a Athlon XP 2000+, GF4 MX 420. I might get new ram but the mobo I am getting will support the PC133 I have so I might save that 80 bucks and add a new 80 GB HDD in my system for $105.

Overall the game was slow. I had to crank it down to the bare minimum. I might reload it and try these "cheats" out. Too bad I deleted my character. What would you recommend for a new character? I have found the magic/fighting combo works good for me. I have ran into creatures that I couldn't kill with the sword that died easliy, or more readily, with magic and vice versa.

Off-Topic:
Not sure what E.S.B. is.
I loved LotR!!

And no self respecting computer geek would have EVER used ME, except to test it out and see how she-it-tay (say it in a rolling breathless manner for full word effect) it was/is.

Ah, a great movie. Thanks phil!

What philippe
said.
Your getting a 80 GB HDD and a Athlon XP 2000+ and did you say GF4!??!?!? And im stuck here with my R-7500 and a simply ordinary HDD. Man with all that stuff your pc's gonna be one bad-ass game running machine! Which consequently leads right to what character you should be in your game, put simply and quoting myself a
:D just joking your magic\fighter combo should do the trick. As for the cheats:http://www.cheatcc.com/frames.html is one place to find them.

E.S.B. ? mad cow disease?!?! Damn.... thats the last time I write that :lol:originaly posted by philippe
And how do you know that? Now we know what caused mad cow disease in France
yeah wait a minute...

It will only be a GF4 MX 420, not a Ti 4200 or 4600. Those are the real bad ass cards.

Pale Horse, you said you might re-install Morrowind? And you wanted advice on what Character to pick? If your going to be a mage\warrior, what Bethsoft calls a battlemage. Then make sure you choose the TOWER constellation, If you don't you'll have to boost up your lockpicking abilities, and quick. The Tower lets you cast a 'open 50 or higher lock', once a day. I have the Ritual constellation, and that gives me heal '100 points on touch'.....<sigh> once a day.

GF4 MX 420
I've only heard good things about that card.
And I while its not a Ti, its definitely a good one.

It's not a good card compared to other high end cards. It's just a low end card that has excellent perf/price ratio that's all... But I think it's a shame they (marketing division of nVidia) dare call it a GF4. Exactly like they called GF2 MX.... for the MX series have nothing to do with the real Ti. Bah there'll always be dumb people trapped by that and who'll be convinced they did the bargain of the century... sigh

The price/performance ratio is what I am interested in.
GF4 MX versus GF3 Ti:
  • Pros
  • GF4 MX is less expensive
  • GF4 allows you to use the 4x AA without much of a performance hit. The GF3 runs at about half speed.
  • GF4 MX and GF3 Ti run at about the same speed. Some resolutions the GF4 MX wins and vice versa.
    Cons:
  • GF3 Ti supports some features that GF4 doesn't.
  • GF4 MX is basically just an update to the GF2 MX while the GF4 Ti is an update to the GF3.

Basically if you want good performance for a good price then you need to get a GF4 MX. If you want bleeding edge performance and an empty wallet then get the GF 4 Ti. It is your choice. I just know I can get a GF4 MX for $65 and the GF4 Ti for $154. The money of the little extra performance is not worth it....to me.
