Election Dicussion

Hi fellow United Fanatica empire citizen. My name is Unknown soldier (aka the guy who doesn't want to be call unknown ;)). I'm doing this speech to inform you of my nomination as the expansion leader position.

You may remember me as the deputy of expansion (position I still occup). I occupied this position almost since the beggining of our empire. My job was mainly about the placement of cities on our starting island. I also replaced spycatcher34 as City planner for the last turn.

My program is simple and fair : I will respect your choice. I'm not going to make promise here, except the one that I will do all I can to make YOUR opinion the decision our next president will take. We arrive at very important moment of the story of our empire. During my work as expansion deputy, I proposed you to vote on how we would settle our island.

You voted so that now, we have almost no place remaining for expansion on our own island. We will need to explore new and dangerous land. We will also need settlers to colonize those new worlds. I propose to help you to choose where those new cities will be placed, so your children and their family will leave in a better world.

Maybe those land will be colonized, and again, the choice of expanding over other nation will be proposed. We arrive at a very serious moment, our life and those of our descendant depends in the choice you will make, the life of our country depends of you. I invite all of you to go to ballots next week and vote. Take the time to decide who is the best choice in your opinion.

So I'll end with a slogan too :

Okay vote for me to become governor for the Luna province please. I am the only candidate anyway and I am suited for the position since it requires someone who will visit the site regularily and check that everything for the Luna province is in order.

Vote for me since there is no one else to vote for! :goodjob:
 
Cornmaster had a good idea for the governor of Phobos by writing in Pellaken. The only person who was nominated for this position was ACM. I don't have anything against ACM, but I clicked on the post totals for all the threads on the first page of this forum and only found two posts by ACM. Pellaken however, as everybody is well aware, is a very active participant on this forum. Also, for those of you who may not trust Pellaken's judgement, the only job he will have as governor is to watch over the cities in his province to make sure things are being taken care of and that they are not overlooked as our number of cities grows. So I would like to promote Pellaken as the governor of Phobos, conditional on him losing to AoA for president and Unknown Soldier for expansion officer.
 
I've withdrawn my nomination for President. in true political style, I will suggest that people vote for AoA since Duck said he dosent want to win.

also, I already voted for gov, of phobos, BEFORE reading the thread... so if I could, have my vote changed from ACM to myself... if you want to cathelene harris me and say that "you've voted, if you voted for the wrong person, too bad" then I'll accept that.

damn butterfly ballots... :)


expect posts in the expansion and phobos threads after the election is over... I am preparing my consession speaches, if you really want to skrew me over, then vote me in to office :)

Its a responsibility thing. the people in my youth parliament, said, as I overheard it "he's our finance minister, he'll make a mockery of the governmen! my god, what if he starts on one of his rants again in the house!" but as soon as things begun, and I was looked up to, I was the prefessional, perhaps one of the 3 best people in the house, or according to many, THE best. I think that I might have a problem, that I see attention, but once I get it, I am allllright! :cool:
 
Apollo, I have few posts at the beginning of the game because I joined a little late and most discussions were already over. If you check the citizens list, I'm among the last citizens to join.

But even before joining, I was checking this forum very frequently. After I joined, I started to participate in all polls and most discussions I considered important. I will continue to do this for a long time, since this is practically the only forum I spend a lot of time reading, thinking and posting.

By running for governor of the province of Phobos I am recognizing the importance of this province and commiting myself to ensure that the cities and infrastructure will be watched all the time.

ACM, nothing against you. you are a great opponent. I doubt that I can beat you, but hey. I am facing 2 great opponents in my elections, it will be hard to do, but I will try. thats what I can promice, and the only thing I can really promice, is to give it 100% effort. I will also always make sure that our infastructure is as advanced as possible.


in all, everything is done democratcally, so what can I really promice anyways?
 
Pellakan - I voted for you as Govenor of Phobos.

One condition though. You cant change the name to Weimar Republic. ;)

also, a question to all elected, PLEASE ANSWER so I dont have to PM all of you:
right now, Trade, Diplomacy, Military, City Planning, and Lune Province have no deputies. should we appoint some? I'll offer this: ACM or Dell become CP deputy, the other take another deputy job, and some other elected members take some other deputy jobs.
 
Well I agree in part with pellaken. In fact, after experiencing the city planning job, I found that it was a very difficult (and long) job to do. So I would like to offer my help to spycatcher for this job. If anyone has a problem with this just tell me. I just thought that having 2 regulars (even if I don't always post, I come here every single day) could maybe soften up the job. Well I just offer myself to help, but it will probably be spycatcher duty to appoint someone for the job, so I'm just proposing myself.
 
Well I don't think the governors need to have a deputy since we only check things anyway. So we also double up as a CP planner anyway, in our provinces.
 
Personally, I have little need for a deputy. I have to visit the site routinely anyway to look over the whining minions in Civ3, so I'm always around. Unless that mayonaise decides to launch a sneak attack on my aeorta, I'll be around, and diplomacy isn't exactly a pole-heavy area.
 
Well I need all the help I can get. I am haveing it really rough latley and cant always check the forums. Just something to consider: the governer of a proveince post the polls about his cities. Then the cp director would just post the big polls like what should the focus be on and stuff like that. Solider and everyone if i dont make the polls say 18-24 hours after the turns been played feel free to make them.

I don't mind making polls for my province and I suppose it would be a good idea since I would have something more to do but then you would have less to do...Also when does the game start again? (the next turns)
 
Dell19, i pm'ed you asking to become your deputy before reading this post. If you still wan't a deputy just pm me and I'll become it. Just in case you can't be there to post a poll that needs to be posted. And to make a name for myself :)

Yeah you can be my deputy. Now I just need to find that map of whcih cities are in each province...:eek:
