What to do with this kind of a start. Poor land, relatively foodpoor capital (in case of cottaging), bloodthirsty neighbours?

Does it make any sense to cottage the FP? If I cottage them i'll get a reasonable research rate but with a really small amount of food.
Which techpath to go?
Toku is probably the first "mustattack" target, but when to strike? And with what to strike (in case i have copper or iron in a reasonable proximity too)? Is it wise to wait for the jumbos?
2nd and 3rd city placement thougths?

Elepult Toku

Exactly what I thought as soon as I saw the map :) Rushing PRO civs without siege isn't ideal.

Shame you killed the fish, although moving on to riverside plain jumbos is usually a good play.

I guess I'd try and build at Toku and grab the stone & pigs if I can. S'always nice to bag the Mids with a PHI leader and run specialists for the :science: & GP spam. Although lack of specialist food squares isn't ideal for a SE. Would probably go for the corn & spices with my 3rd city.

All in all it's a fairly tough roll, but certainly winnable. This map is on my usual settings, if you post the 4000BC save I might have a go (although I have some map knowledge to help now).

Those flood plains should be cottaged to help tech wise. I might try to grab the pigs/stone. I would favour an earlier rush due to poor land. You might consider a HA rush. Also a city to grab horse/more flood plains?? (I can't tell)

Overall limited city choices here unless you have a sea of flood plains.

Well turned out better then it looked like :)
Spoiler :
It will be a little late elepult date, because I built the mids, anyways in a few turns the "Toku Fun" will start... :D

2nd City race against Tokugawa was some sort of crucial (his Settler was 2 tiles away when York was founded @ 2560BC). He didn't go for the corn site, so the other cities were built smoothly (except some barbarian problems lol).

London truns out to be a nice capital.

The horses were a little too late connected so didn't have time to better explore the map. But nevermind: i guess it's overall a crappy map since the tech path goes really slow and with Toku as Alphabet monopolist @ 350BC . Even Confucionism is not yet founded and the Oracle went @ 800BC.

@Chase2Rabbits I have the starting save but it's BUG+BULL multiplayer installed mode (got feedback from some forum members that an error shows up by loading my saves). I'll attach it anyway so you can at least give it a try...
