justanick only says about half of what he means in a statement. He feels we are all on the same page. It's just that justanick's pages aren't numbered, so they're hard to find. Of course we're going to research two consecutive techs. It's just another case of him thinking in German and speaking in English.

I think he has lost track of the tech count and needs to take another look at where everyone is.

Wasn't Anarchie supposed to be researching Currency? We shouldn't be giving out techs until everyone knows exactly what's required.
 
It seems we have to send Construction to everyone next turn.

And on another note:

As in every MTDG I have participated so far (incl. 2 civ4 games), there are personal accusations made between Memento and d7. Both say that the others are breaking deals and contracts.

Anarchy now have attacked the Knights and seemingly have killed a bunch of troops and captured/destroyed a town. :eek:

We are going to send construction to both teams with our next turn.

And then I think new negotiations are required, especially considering the tensions that have grown to a war on the other continent.

@Chamnix: If we get the promised techs, we also need to send constuction accepted.
 
We sent Construction to Kuche but not to Anarchie. We can send it to them if Kuche did not.

What do we do with our free MA tech? Do we send it to people with accept or put it on the table for payment (I have no idea how much gold is supposed to be exchanged), or do we just send a message to our "friends" letting them know what we got?

I think we should not send our MA tech to anyone immediately. First of all we should get to know what Anarchy draws and then negotiate about the condistions of the exchange.

Anyway, I really would like to get Engineering quickly, if it is not one of the free techs.

The Eagles are very fortunate to have such great allies as the both of you. We are glad to send Engineering to both of you with our next turn.

To support our allies on the far far away continent, we will start researching Feudalism immediately. But honestly speaking, we do not have any use for Chivaly. Our most probable research path after Feudalism would be Theology and Education. In case The Brotherhood decides on building The Great Library, we would like them to get as few free techs as possible from it.

We are looking forward to hearing your ideas.

Looks good to me, but I'd still like to see a couple hundred gold from eah of them when we send them Engineering.

Dear Eagles, donnot we see a great risk, that the Brotherhood may build the Great Library. The war is likely to keep them busy on more important things. So if you wish to research education you may do this after chivalry is finished. We will pay our bills for those technologies, but since this is quite a bunch of money we will need approximately 20 turns for that task. Best wishes - Cotta

Seems to me they could give us some gpt every turn for the next 20 turns with the balance (if any) paid at the end of the 20 turns...
 
Also, the Brotherhood will build the Great Library unless this war eliminates them. They may wait until after the war is over, but they are already 6 techs behind. It is just a matter of time before they build it.

I agree with you on this. The other two teams just are of the opinion that Brotherhood should be eliminated by then. I am not that sure about it.

Concerning your financial situation: Can we agree on some gpt payment? We are not able to research at full pace forever, without some cash flow. Perfect would be a 20 turn gpt up to the amount you owe us. But some pre-payment in gpt and the rest later would also be fine. We are looking forward to your ideas.

Regarding The Great Library: All of us are just assuming something. You and Anarchie are quite sure that Brotherhood won't build it and we have a different opinion on this. Of course the outcome of the current war is important, but we must not underestimate Knight's abilities.

But this is just one point we want to talk about. Another thing is Chivalry. You proposed the table with techs, but we did not really have the time to discuss this and did not really agree on researching Chivalry. To support our allies on the other continent, we immediately started with Feudalism after we knew our free techs, although we also do not have much use for this.

As we understood, Anarchie already started with Theology. It's a somewhat tricky situation right now.

But we have a proposal to solve this: You and Anarchie guarantee to buy Chivalry from us and after Anarchie finished Theology, WE research Education at full speed.

The BOLD part was just an idea I have to find a compromise.
 
Trying to plan ahead... we have a luxury trade with Kuche going until turn 131. Unless someone is dominating the other continent, I think that soon after that, we will want to attack Kuche and take control of our continent. 40 turns is probably not enough to reach military tradition (and we don't even know if we will have saltpeter), so I guess Chivalry will be useful to us anyway. Of course, it would be better if we could research it on our own later and not be obligated to sell it away, but we can't have everything. Since I think we will be the aggressors in the war, the speed of knights should be good for us.

I agree with your proposal.

we will sent you 50 gold each turn until we saved enough money to pay out the rest at once. We regret that you seem to have no use for Chivalry. But since you will only pay one third of its cost the damage will be relativly small. We will pay our share on this and we expect Anarchie to honor the agreement, too.

Regarding the Theology the situation is tricky. It is very tricky, indeed. It will allow you to switch directly to Education after finishing Chivalry. We are considering to support that move. But we are also asking whether it is wise to cooperate with Anarchie even beyond the current agreement.

You said that we must not underestimate the Knight's abilities. Well, right at the moment we must especially not underestimate Anarchie. They attacked the Brotherhood, captured Ivan-gorod and now they captured another city. We expect this city to be placed 8-8-8-9 from the capital Camelot. This seem to be pretty intimidating for the Knights. If they donnot achieve some kind of victory like recapturing that city soon, a collapse of the Brotherhood may be just a matter of time. If the Brotherhood was not prepared for this war it will loose it. If the Brotherhood looses the war Anarchie will win the war and gain much power. We must be prepared to face this changed situation.

Of course, we cannot foresee the result of the current war. But right now being cautious is a duty.
