Empire Earth II building pack

Good to see you are around again, Walter! So I have hopes that you'll start working on the crown soon? :D

I see, I thought The Capo already sent you the files. No prob, I'll talk to him once I have time.

I can certainly have a look. Though I must warn you in advance that city centers are among the most high-poly buildings. The mideastern one I converted earlier is so high-poly that I wouldn't recommend using it in Civ at all.

blender has a script that reduces the numbers of poly - so that could help I think

Nope; I already tried that on EE2 buildings a long time ago. The way that script works, it mangles these models terribly. The only real way to reduce polycounts is by hand.

Moreover, most EE2 buildings have several levels of model detail, and I usually use the lowest detailed - but even some of their own models have undesirable artifacts that clearly occured from polycount reduction process.

In theory it's possible (although much much harder), but their non-mechanical units are not only noticeably stylistically different, but also worse than their Civ counterparts. Not really worth the significant amount of effort.

I will have a look at it sometime. But I am almost sure there are better llamas out there; for instance, Zoo Tycoon 2 uses Gamebryo engine, and there is a good chance it has nice llamas.

Well, I looked through numerous dead forums, rotted links, and sketchy download sites, and as luck would have it, I found one that was made for a half-finished unofficial expansion pack. :king: If i post the files, do you think you could convert it? I wouldn't know where to begin...

BTW, I looked at the llama. The model itself is nice and very appropriate for Civ 4, but there are no "native" animations included. I can try to rig it to some Civ 4 animations, but it takes quite an effort.

I'll see. Camel animations are fairly specific to that animal; I think I'll do something with one of the horses.

I'll be out of town for 2 weeks, but when I return I'll likely get to it.
