Empire Names

United Confederate States of America?

I guess while we're at it we can also form American monarchic names too, American Kingdom, Kingdom of America?

Oh the mild, mild tedium :p

Emperor Norton declared himself "Emperor of these United States". He'd probably keep "United States of America".

For the U.S. under police state, i like United State of America. Simple. Makes sense. Similar to its non fascist name.

For communist America, it could be either American Commune (Marxist), Union of Soviet Socialist States (Leninist Socialism), or People's Republic of America (Maoist).

In an unrelated note, Russian vassals should be named as [Civ Adjective] Soviet Socialist Republic.

I've got a suggestion for both Fascist and Communist parties; the American Union State/Combined Syndicalists of America, respectfully.

(All who get the reference have my seal of approval. :D)

The problem with that (and vassal names in general) is what if neither Russia nor the vassal is in State Property? Then it doesn't make much sense (and again, neither does Soviet ___ or most of the other vassal names, under the right circumstances).

It would probably be better to perhaps replace Rhye's system with something like the Dynamic Civ Names mod for BtS, which is easily edited and can have many more differences in names.

Yeah, same with Germany and the Nazi "Kommissariat" names.

Solution:

German Vassal names have Reichskommisariat and Reichsgau replaced with Reichsprotektorat.
Russian Vassal names have Russian [Country] instead of Soviet [Country]. Germany and Khmer are exceptions, with Germany being the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) and the Khmer being the Socialist Republic of Kampuchea (Vietnam, kinda)

Problem: GDR is currently the communist name of Germany.

Well, East Germany was pretty much a Russian vassal.

Perhaps the Communist German name could be the German Commune, Socialist Republic of Germany, or People's Republic of Germany?

There's actually a historical name available:
On 9 November [1918], Liebknecht declared the formation of a Freie Sozialistische Republik (Free Socialist Republic) from a balcony of the Berliner Stadtschloss, two hours after Philipp Scheidemann's declaration of the Weimar Republic from a balcony of the Reichstag.
See Karl Liebknecht and November Revolution.
