I agree with black_adder. The player with the fastest reaction time has the advantage. This means that the host will always have the advantage. This is an exploit. Exploits need to be discouraged.
I disagree about the timer. Changing the timer speed will not affect anyone very much during the Ancient Age. My style of play has few variables. ie) build granary, grab land.
Accelerated production, however, speeds the technology race and builds the economy sooner. I see this as having the greatest effect on the game's pace.
Revised game plan:
Acient Age.........turn based, accelerated production.
...................mode or modes for Medieval Age open for discussion.
Player availibility:
Neomega........still to decide
black_adder2....Mon., & Tues, this week only, Mon-Thurs afterwards.
Quillan.........Mon-Wed.
Harsh...........Mon-Thurs
If we are to play the schedule looks like, Mon & Tues this week, then Mon-Wed afterwards.
Again 2 - 3 hours per night, given Quillan's 9:30 start time.
Anyway, I'd love to have 4 players. I'm thinking 4 players and 4 AI makes for some intersting play.
