Empyrian-Severely Underpowered

The spell is Trust, the third level spirit spell. It actually works though a Feat and can only be used once per player per game (and allows it to show the custom "You Seem Trustworthy" reason rather than the generic "Past Events..."), but making a repeatable spell that improves relations would not be difficult.

p.s. It really seems like would fit better a Shadow spell, especially since Esus was the Angel of Trust.

But it's easier to spam Rathas and Radiant Guardsman than Mages, and the former two are better in direct combat as well.

no ... but it's a lot more convenient to have an army full of Vampires casting Death 2 rather than having to coddle your adepts to be Death 2 mages.

same with Rathas and Radiant Guards.


Still ... Sun 2 is a bit much, with it affecting the entire stack exactly the same way (and no defense for it). I'd much rather prefer it give the stack a held-type promotion that wore off at a random rate. (like 30 - 40% per turn)

Well i never have problems holding even the biggest stacks with just a few radiguards, acctualy the reason i dont go empy every single game is simply its booring lore. ^^

The reason that just a few Radiant Guards can hold disable whole stacks is that the AI groups units to move whole stacks together rather than considering each unit's best move independently.

With Tholal's mod the AI, in my experience, will continue to move the non-blinded units most of the time. It'll also use spells like the imba blinding light, blur and maelstrom more often creating a more fun game instead of just being abused.

Chalid is nice, and by far the biggest advantage, but what is he when there is a 19 stregnth Sphener? or a Hemah who can cast all spells available to an archmage and has hero ? or Valid Rosier or Saverous or Bambur one tech away from the tech needed to found? or Gibbon who requires just the tech for founding and a tech that comes at around the same time? or Mardero who can bring down hell on the holy guys? or any of the other heroes that have their own unique abilities and although most aren't as good as Chalid, some are, and they are not their religion's only heroes. Blinding light is a spell almost always resisted, better use druids when you can. Crown of Brilliance is fine, but a kraken is better. Empyrian is better than no religion, but most religions are better than Empyrian

Crown of Brilliance+Pillar of Light = win. Add in a decent support squad to aid him and you have a holy force that can't be beat.

Note: When I play Empyrean I'm almost always Malakim and whore the Sun Mana.

Are you able to keep the hero's with command III? Don't they leave if you don't have the right civics?

Hrm. Honestly it's been awhile but I don't think so.
Even if so, you can still reliably gank them, depriving them from the enemy. And you CAN capture civ specific heroes, so that's nice.

I never tried a non-coop-MP game before but it would be awesome to steal an epic hero from one of my friends.

I like capturing one of the giant apes, they especaly fit with the bals. ^^
