Eragon mod

Iv just finished the du van gata(Cant spell it) and elven mages. Both of them use white rabbits wizard textures. The one with the hatand sword is the elven mage, the one with the hood and staff is the du van gata.
iv also compleated some elven archers.

.......ok, we'll have those leaders, but you can not simply ignore orik and ayra as units. We still need some non-unit leaders. Unless Surda plays a big part, we can just leave them hero-less... :crazyeye:

Im onto the national flags. Im no graphic artist so I was hoping someone could help, but I was thinking:

Empire: its in the books, but Im not sure
Elves: a leaf?
Dwarves: some kind of mining equipment, or a diamond of gem
Varden: an animal (not sure which one, maybe a bird or dragon), or a mountain.
Surda:
Urgals: something ugly or Orcish.
Desert tribes: If you want them to be in, a scarab, cutlass, or those deer things...

what do you suggest?

great ideas the surda is an oringe flag with a shield and two sword crossed behing it. we will include the desart tribes in the intitial release

who said we where going to ignore orik and ayra as units???? lol :)

I don't mean to be rude, but couldn't you edit a post for once? :p

Well if they will be units, we still need some more minor characters to get the leader-job if anyone dies...

lol i cant be botherd i all ready edited it about 100 times........
There is a dragon rider model out there iv just asked on the unit request thread...... but dont worry dalek_master it wont be included untill a future release......lol

do you think we could use white rabits evilwinged swordsman as durza????
ayra should be a hero/leader (again all will be awnserd in eldest.....)

there you go i edited it.....
and again....

all the characters can be trained, but if a "ledaer" type hero, dies, then the civ gets a new leader based on who would be most likely out of the minor or major characters. For instance, If the elven leader were to die in battle, the leader for that civ would be replaced. This would be hard though....

Heroes would just train like normal units, but you can only train them once (no coming back to life).

Also, if gallbatrox (i think, I wish the names were easier), dies, the empire crumples and the goodie civs win. This can be the objective when playing the goodie civs.

When playing the badies, (which ofcourse will have a differnt playing style and feel), you can win by, um I don't know, capture all the 2nd generation dargon-riders? they can be caught and the winner is the one that has all 3 or something.

Sorry, im only about a 5th through eldest if I have shown my ignorance

those civs and stuff coming...

Ice2k4 is your suggestion similer to this?????

Somewhat similar. Here's my proposed idea. There are hero units and king units (they differ slightly.)

King units are hero units, except when killing them, they are replaced by a new leader. (Except Galbatorix, who if dead, loses the game.)

Hero units are units that appear at set times (again look at Desert Mod if you don't understand, it ships with game.) These units act very much like the hero units in Fall from Heaven Mod, in which they gain one experience point every turn, no matter what. (Example of these units are Rohan, Eragon)

Now, hero units can appear in cities (agian which we will set) that may not be under their nationalitie's control. We also have to program it that the Varden is never at war with nayone but the empire, and that both the varden, elves, and dwarves are at war with the empire in hte beginning, but keep low profiles. Obviously there will be a fog of war setting imposed on the empire, so they will have to cross the desert and get by the mountains to find the varden's whereabouts.

Basically the empire controls all cities (including Carvahall) that are not under their fog of war. Eragon, Rohan (and what's his face who trains Eragon) will all appear in Carvahall at a time which we set. (We will also set a time where the guy who trained Eragon dies.)

Lastly, I want to make it that Galbatorix is strong, but rarely moves out of the capitol. Also you have to remember the Empire get's the hero from the eldest, which I forgot his name, and I rather not spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the book. Even saying his name will spoil it actually.

thats a good idea. Eragon and such can gain promotions as they travel. You'll get a event like "Eragon has learnt: "bringsr", or soemthing liek that.

I think that the varden should be the ones in control of Eragon and characters like that. Are invisible units invisilbe to allies.

and yeah, Galbatorix should be realy strong. When Eragon or another character, they alone get a chance agaisnt such power! :yup:

ice 2k4 great idea i think we will go along with that idea but you might have to do it. Im no where near as good with xml as something like that requires.lol
changed my mind about durza i think this hero unit would make a better durza

don't forget to ask the people your getting these off, and put thier names in the credits. :nono:.

by the way, if no one else does, Im going to try and figure out some civics. :crazyeye:, there the most fun for me

iv asked if i can use them and yes i will give them credit. Im not that mean and selfish lol.
Yes go ahead and do some civics. Remember to include the dwarvern clans.

I only know 3
ok, Im doing:
civs
leaders
civics (and clans)

lastly, I was thinking that religions could be changed to the different forms of magic in the books, for instence, you could train units that have promotions of that magic with them at the start. these units could also drop into the cities as a specialist and stuff. could be intersting, but it may be a bit to daring for the first version.

yes i think that might be a bit daring...... we will leave the first version as it is going to be now or we will never get it done lol...........

I figure that the first build will be just the base of the mod, (most the new things, and a few no event-scenarios to play with), and then if enough intrest is shown in a scenario, w'll all put an ad in our sigs for python'ers so we can have a chance for it... :crazyeye:

yep thats about the jist of it. Zenious can you add a new tech called royal guard???? The tech would allow the civs to each build there own unique royal guard. Iv allready made the unit for the empire.

[EDIT] ok the units have hit a dead stop. :( Iv put the units in the game got them a button but now where the upgrades and defense buttons should be theres nothing.....
until i get this prob fixed i cant do anymore workable units:(
iv put up a question in the forums but untill someone awnsersit im stuck...

I could try to add a new one, but like I said, this whole tech thing is very, very confusing.

EDIT: where do you want me to add it at?

after elven blades?????

The heros would be under their respective control, but they can appear in enemy teritory, like how Eragon will appear in Carvahall and be under Varden control. I'll start the hero thing this weekend. Also, I'm going to do the map whenever I get a chance. Sorry for the delays, but I've been really busy lately.
