As some of you are aware, I am making a mod and a lot of requests these days. I wish I had the resources to make the graphix myself, but I have no good paint program or any talent to use one if I did.

I was wondering if anyone out there would be able to make new EraSplashes for a fantasy setting. They don't have to be for any specific fantasy, since my mod is D&D and any kind of fantasy splash will do. I'm not sure how to make them myself or I would.

EDIT: I revived this request since it hasn't been done, and that was a while back. I wanted to refresh it for all the new graphix folks out there.

Would be cool. :)

I'm not sure they could be made to work with any fantasy mod, though, as different modmakers have their mods era-divided in different ways, because of the progression of what ever world they depicted and the way technology advanced in different fantasy worlds etc. For instance, I'm thinking a LOTR mod would have different ages from a Warhammer mod, since in LOTR one knows exactly what happened in each age, and there are these and these races etc.

I requested this some time ago and someone even offered to do them but he disapperead I think. Splashes can be universal - you don't have to put "events" there. Something like the first two erasplashes in civ3 will be ok - sort of 4 versions of a landscape with medieval city.

But that doesn't tell the human player that he (or she)'s progressed in time, or? Isn't that the point of era-splashes; to tell you that you've progressed since last time you came into a new age?

Of course it does. Can't you imagine four different pictures of a medieval city? First - more like ancient one, huts and stuff. Then more medieval one, with wooden buildings. Then 3rd era, more and more buildings, this time with stone and bricks, and maybe a castle. And then 4th era with white bricks, bigger castle, high towers, crowded streets etc. Also sky may go more gloomy in each era.

Maybe you could name a few wonders to give a basic lead? :)
Like names or so;

Dragon Independence
Elf Morality

whatever :D

This is more like what I was thinking. I don't want to have the same Era SPlash in my mod as the original. The last 3 eras wouldn't have any different splashes.

Unexisted, maybe you're the one for this? :)
As embryodead wrote about, a "medieval" town, with four subtle differences... First a kinda barbaric village, a larger town, a Medieval town, a bit larger, and some late "Rennaisance" town.
If you get into any "technical" problem I'm sure me or embryodead can help you with them.

It would be nice to see these EraSplashes made for the LotM and WH mods. Of course I'll use it for mine as well.;)

I'll give it a try, should I include a future fantasy city?

well I don't think so, as all of us fantasy modders dig in "classic" medieval fantasy. at least it seems so.

I prefer the classic medieval style myself. It could look magical in the late era and that would be fine, just not too techy. Please and thank you.

I apologize for reviving this thread. Some bring it fellows!

But I was wondering if anyone was ever going to do this. I would still like it done, and since nobody has done it yet, I though I might revive the thread and see if anyone is willing. :help:

I have era splashes for the MTG Mod done already, but they have nothing to do with fantasy. I would like to see a fantasy version of the era splashes done, even if I dont use it.

would something like this work or not.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, kind of looks like some trolls attacking a party of adventurers. If you want to upload them I can take a closer look, and why not do something different between ages. Something other than a city, especially if it has a D&D flare, then I know I can use it at least.:scan:

Well what i thought u was looking for was D&D monsters attcking the adventure party or the party in a dungon or what not. Being as u said a D&D mod. That could be era splash 1 and i have others that could be used as era 2,3,4 also. Sorry if i misunderstood. but here is a preview of another anyways.

I made the request for basic fantasy versions, but I won't turn away any that would fit my mod. I just thought that if I asked for something universal it would have a better chance of being made. Since you have some D&D specific ones, I can use them. It would be another cool twist to graphix that I have planned fo rthe mod. :)
