Re: MGLs - Horsa and Hengest are stupid. Aber warum ersetzt Ihr Preußen die ausschließlich mit Preußen oder Brandenburgern? (Translation - "internal German relations" Why only Prussians?)
My proposals: Hermann der Cherusker, Ludwig der Bayer, Barbarossa, Wallenstein, Blücher, Richthofen, Rommel
And the SGLs: Why does everyone removes Fritz Haber? The man did invent the Fertilizer, Gas Warfare, lots of explosive (unintentionally, they use the same chemical process as the fertilizer). He definitely is one of the most important Chemists ever, but since he was Jewish, he 'dropped' off public memory. Clearly a by far more important scientist than Diesel or Zeppelin.
Hallo nach Würzburg!
To be honest, I don't think that I put too much Prussians in my proposal.
But it for sure is a fact that most of the commonly known military persons were from Prussia. This in principle doesn't mean any ranking, it is just a fact.
About Richthofen: As far as the "Red Baron" is concerned, he for sure is well known, but as having been just a (very good) fighter pilot - and squadron leader, of course - in my eyes he doesn't qualify for an army leader.
I put in the persons who contributed to the Prussian army reform as of 1806-1814, since this reform made the Prussian army become very strong and dominating for almost one century. In the game, this would be reflected by the use of armies in comparison with single units. For that, I found this logical.
About Fritz Haber: since he was a strong advocate of chemical warfare as well, I've put him out of my list. By the way, he converted to protestantism in 1893, at the age of 25.
I don't like weapons of mass destruction, but this of course is just a personal attitude of mine.
As I have stated in my posting above, I think that the Germans as being a "nation" entered the stage around 850 - 963 (Otto I.), depending on what you see as the basis for some tribes now to be called a nation.
For that, Hermann is out of the race. He was a Germanic chief, nevertheless.
At last: my proposal just was a proposal, which of course can and should be discussed
