Good thinking. I did it, and the error message appeared again. But I wouldn't sort out the music as the cause of the problem without a normal test, such as playing for a few hours without music.
 
for me, it happen at the weirdest places, I was waiting for enemy's turn as they move their unit around and it happened. It's not a new government nor did I discover any new tech. But I was playing as company. I didn't pay attention really cause I didn't expect it to CTD.

Oh yeah and Zeb died on day 2, got wiped out....well yeah

I saw Sam Hammer walkes into Research Lab and never to come out again.... >< I was so close, is there something we can do about it? because unless someone catches him quickly he seemed to just disappear.
 
I think the AI disbands him.

Because he vanished in my game, confirmed when I plant a spy in every civ. (poof! gone!)
 
Testers...Please take note of IF you are playing Music and a Crash Occurs. I would like for any of you to play with Music Disabled to see if you still experience Crashes. Tech Discoveries do not seem to be the cause but I am not ruling out anything at this point. Music cannot simply be added by altering text files to have it all play as it should. IF anyone completely turns Music OFF or Disables it and still experiences Crashes..that will present that there are other factors involved. I have stopped working on unit sounds and will focus on this Crash situation now. "Hit and Miss" will not reveal the problem quickly so lets try to rule out what we can. IF Music is the Culprit and it is disabled, No crashes will take place. Play without Music and see if any crash occurs. The Exact cause may then be corrected but we must find the general area that is causing the crashes. IF it is Music or anything else, we will work to correct it.

I also really like the trucks and cars that is vital for mobility ... I don't suppose the AI uses them :(

Tech Tree Question ... is the Guns, Guns, Guns really needed by Authorities ??? If not then it should be removed from the Authority Tech Tree.

Perhaps there are other techs that are not necessary to reseach by other factions.
 
Just a thought

Having slight difficulty seeing those Supply bonuses that pop up on the map ... the skull and cross bones on spears graphic is the current one being used ... :hmm: Wouldn't it be more logical if they were similar or even using the 'Parachute Drop' icon ... it would be a supply drop that went off course ... makes sence that units would be then sent to pick them up, even though it is 'very dangerous out there !!!'

The Resource that currently uses it could be replaced with something else ... maybe a chest or packing case ??? ... I'd also increase the rate they appear/dissappear on the map.

Thoughts??


Also notice that in the Graveyard you have a deadbody and a blue cup co-existing ... are the bodies polution ... and is there a unit available to ALL Human factions that can remove pollution? ... Perhaps a unit with a flamethrower???

EDIT ... National Guard unit could do this???
For other factions ... Scavenger Unit
 
Sound for a Stripper ... maybe it would be good if it is the 'Woo Hoo' cheer of drunken lonely men ... the type that frequents a gentlemen's club ... at the moment it is an animalistic growl when one is spawned.

Unfortunately the only films available are the entire George A Romero collection, '28 Days Later', Peter Jackson's 'Brain Dead' and the querky British comedy 'Shaun of the Dead'. Do we detect a theme here?

But what's this ?!! ... in the back of a dusty cupboard you find a copy of 'The Sound of Music' ... Oh No !!! the Horror !!!

Not much of a selection, but at least the popcorn isn't too stale.

Just going through the text files ... I'm sure there is a way to give leaders individual names ... look at the vanilla game when a leader is spawned, they get many names !!! ... Or is a scenario different ???

Question to assist the Testing ... Is there a simple way that you can tell us so that we can turn regicide off.

Also do you want PM's or posting here for little perdantic errors in spelling, spacing and grammar - not that I've found any gramatical ones ;)

Reason I ask is that I have found that in the Pedia under Attitude, there is a tab missing in some of the entries which causes misallignment in the text display.

Basic Instinct entry for Rate Cap ... the 6 is not alligned.
Determination entry for Rate Cap ... the 8 is not alligned.
H.R. ... Perfect
Martial Law entry for Rate Cap ... the 8 is not alligned.
Panic ... Perfect
Survive entry for Rate Cap ... the 6 is not alligned.

No the AI doesn't know how to use land transport. They will use the unit in the normal way if you give them some Attack and Defense or use them as Scouts if you tag the Explore setting.

No they have all the guns they need. I will remove this.

Those skull and crossbones represent Barbarian Camps. The Supply Parcel resource is already using a box with a parachute attached. You need the Aid Relief tech before they appear.

Yes and Yes although perhaps not always noted in the civilopedia.

Yes you're right - it's done in the editor against the civilisation. I'll look into this.

Started again ... on the 2nd Highest level.

Difficulty ... Does anyone else feel that the game is too easy ... maybe more zombies are required at the early stages?!!


Unit Labeling ... Instead of having Sam Hammer, Elvis, that Geek Kid etc all have ... NAME (Zombies) ... perhaps change it to (Unique) or (Immune).

Just strange that we rescue them and they are still named after the Zombies.

fe3333au... Concerning the Stripper Spawn Sound, I will need to locate the sound that is played when a unit is spawned. This may be a single sound used for all spawned unit, I am not sure. IF it is changable, I will change it.

The Rate Cap Numbers are aligned now in the Charts for Attitudes.

As for having the names change for Rescued Unit...I am not sure this can be changed without renaming the Zombie Faction because the Units retain who they were much like the Population does when you capture a City.

Concerning Ease of Game Play...The Level you were playing was what made this "easy"...try higher levels to test the Difficulty.

With levels i've tried to even out the difficulty - it was a killer game even on PG setting before but now the difficulty is more progressive. Try the Banned setting and let me know how you get on.

Perhaps change to 'Mil Hardware' or Military Ware ... can the pedia entry still say Military Hardware ???

Zombie Nurses ... can there be a couple more scattered around the island ... nurses on their way to work and going home getting attacked ... It's such a great unit :clap:

Showed it to g/f who is one ... a nurse NOT zombie ... she mentioned it was like her current ward sister :lol:

Dockyard does not mention that it spawns Docker unit nor the rate.

same with ... Brothel and the Hooker units.
 
Wow ... although the music was off in preferences ... I got a CTD ... I had just had my turn and was watching the zombies move about.
