Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

fe3333au... Yes, Military Hardware can be changed to something that will fit the Tile Screen Window and yes, it can still read Military Hardware in the civilopedia.

Yes, Dockyard and Brothel still need their Entries updated to state what they spawn and the rate.

I am testing Techs for Crashes...no Crashes when I discovered all of them. IF you have Music turned OFF and you are experiencing Crashes...I will need more detailed information to Trouble shoot it. Simply saying that you were watching the Zombies is not enough info but it does indicate that Music is either not the problem or the only problem causing crashes. You should be able to load that move and have the Crash happen again. IF so, send me the saved game for that move.

In lieu of my posting the 'surprse' ... I post these instead as a teaser :mischief:

MIDNIGHT - Day 3 - Authorities.

My units retreat to the Docklands as the infected approach:
>

>
"Here they come, they must have sniffed us!!"
"Damn them to Hell, I just wanted to go a see a stripper ..."
"Shhhh there's a coppah!!"

Remains of the Cemetery:
>

>
"Base, O'Donnel here ... the Mayor's not gonna like this .. over ..."
"Report !!"
"Well Sir it seems them civis have gone and trashed the Cemetery .. over ..."
"Describe the damage"
"Open graves ... Broken Headstones ... Bodies dismembered and bits thrown everywhere ... and the stench ... over ..."
"Good ... continue scouting south"
"OK Boys let's head off and watch where you step !! ... Man I'm glad I don't hav'ta cleanup this mess"

The Infection has spread:
>

>
Units defend the buildings while all around is danger and unimaginable horror.
Even the Manholes can bite, one consolation is that at least they bite everything.

Upgrade Cost ... Elvis only takes 2 supplies to get the pelvis bonus happening ... could it be a bit more ?!!

Graphic Error ?!!

Found this coming up a couple of times ... the black square shouldn't be there due to line of sight.

Found another one ... or three (?)

And finally Sam Hammer finds that resources are also suseptible to the dreaded black hole ;)

Observation ... Sam Walked through the ammo and it became a road ... the problem with the first image around Zeb's farm is that the roads do not look as roads, the tile looks like a Desert Irrigation.

Pedia entry
Suggest that the wording is changed for Munitions Store as it is misleading.

From ... halves unit upgrade costs, increases influence and allows you to produce veteran units.

From ... produces veteran units, increases influence and allows units to be upgraded at half cost.

It just doesn't look like there's supposed to be a road there. Unless Zeb has units that can build roads on farmland, that is... The 2nd one shows a single tile of the road that leads to the Airport, and the 3rd one is singular tiles of resources that only appear on streets.

Sam Hammer is like Elvis, some Geeky kid that jumps about alot and I believe also a punk street kid called Tommy ... You liberate or I guess save them from zombies by taking a city or 'capturing' ... think taking a worker/artillery in the vanilla game.

Geek kid upgrades to Dalek in your Bastion building, Elvis to a bombard capable Elvis :cooool:

btw ... I editted that page ... the top one is in Zeb's territory where raods look like irrigated Desert.

well secruity can clean pollution. I once saw a Secruity keeps firing without stopping. and it just disappeared. It did a slide and bam gone.

It seems that there would be a CTD when a beginning of a new turn starts of some sort.

Also it seems that compnay build a road on a House in one of it's territory w/ scavenger. Is that even possible?

fe3333au...you have a faulty irrigation file is all. This faulty File will be Replaced and I will send you a corrected file now.

Testers... I have played through a Game and researched and obtained all techs. It is Not Techs that cause the Crashes. I finally had a CTD when the Zombie AI was taking its turn and Mutant Zombies were moving. Nothing else was taking place on the map...just Mutant Zombies moving and right in the middle of their move is when the Game Crashed.
This was without playing Music. I believe the crash has something to do with the Zombies. There is something they are trying to do on their turn that seems to be causing the crashes. This could take place at different times for different players and games because what ever it is could require something that would happen at different times in different games.
Focus attention on the Zombies. IF you play as the Zombies perhaps we can find what is causing the crash when you try to do something during play.

@KingArthur ... Do you have a list of missing or incorrect text for the Pedia? ... If so, could you post it here and we can work on filling the gaps.

In fact I intend to go through ALL the pedia in the next week and will post a list of entries that have missing or incorrect information .... if these alter from the mainlist (if there is one) :p

Could Testers keep this in mind ... and post their own findings ... we should get a To Do List out of this process :salute:

Then we can provide fillers for the gaps :D

We are getting close

I've had a ctd as the Zombies before. It was just the same as my previous ctd's. When I reloaded, everything was fine again.

Also, this may sound stupid, but could a combination of sounds cause a ctd? For instance, if a certain song plays in the background, and the sound for having just researched a tech both played at the same time, could that lead to some sort of ctd?

What if all the background music was combined into a big wave file?

Perhaps all the stop/start is causing the problems?

EDIT ... but that doesn't explain if it happens when music is turned off :(

Virote_Considon... Not a stupid thought at all but I don't believe multiple sounds would cause a crash any more than when the game plays two unit sounds and ambient sounds all at the same time. Computers Multi-Task very well and multi sounds are the same as multi-animations as far as the computer knows.
...When you had the CTD playing as the Zombies, was there anything in particular taking place or anything you were trying to do just before the Crash? The Only thing I have gathered and seen for myself was the Mutant Zombies were moving but this observation could merely be coincidence.

fe3333au... There may not be a formal "list" for Civilopedia Entries that need to be added or changed but if you look in the Civilopedia in the Game it will be obvious what entries are needed. The Best way to be sure all Entries are as they should be is to open the Editor and go through each Unit, Building and Resource, then open the Civilopedia and compare the Entries one at a time. Go into a Game and click on Civilopedia Entries to see that each is there and correct. As soon as we manage to find the cause of the CTD and correct it, I plan to systematically go through all entries. Slow process but faster than "hit and miss" approach.

...yes, since the CTD's are taking place without Music, this indicatates that something else is involved.

Vuldacon sent me a fix ... I replaced the Irrigation terrain file ... loaded the game from where I had saved last night..

Still there :(

Also ... is there anyway that Leaders can be transported in a truck/car ???

I think I can explain that one :)

It's a one tile road. It wasn't there from the start so someone must have built it. Find out who and kill them... NO,no.

Can you tell me what the underlying terrain is on that tile? I have probably missed a terrain type when disabling what terrain roads can be built on. This is controlled by setting the commerce bonus (i.e. with road) to 0. The terrain "Streets" should be the only terrain type on which you can build roads.
