Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

here's two more: operation sledgehammer and keep 'em out.
Those tech icons are absolute magic. You've hit the nail on the head with each one.

Regarding the Police unit. As was said already there's no suitable unit graphic. Anyhow, I intended the Authorities to be a strong end game player - tanks, nukes, missiles, F15s etc...They need to play defensive in the beginning. It's all to do with the authorities being slow to react to the situation in keeping with the story line of a typical B movie. First they send in negotiaters to find out what the zombies motives are; are they terrorists? ;)

The one concession I made was to reduce the cost to research Call 911 by 1/2 when SWATS become available - are people still finding this too long a time? Is the defensive opening play too boring? Thoughts please?

I suppose I could add another government that's only available to the Authorities: "Martial Law" is a good enough name. It could eliminate war weariness as "Sheer Determination" does but it would need to come with the "Impose Martial Law" tech which comes a lot sooner than Sheer Determination does for the Survivors. Mmm I'll need to think about that one.

Martial Law is a good idea ... I took the liberty to start a unit request thread in Creation and Customization forum ...

Have requested
>Police in blue with pistol
>shotgun unit
>Yellow Bio Hazzard unit

Lizardman ... extraordinary work ... I agree you have captured the atmosphere of the game ... lets ensure that they are all at that level :goodjob:

Pilot Resource ... looks too business man (in my honest opinion) ... what about the topgun type of look ... green heated g-suit and white helmet

Actually I love the pilot. It is supposed to be a civilian airport so the look is accurate. He can use his little brief case to fend off zombies too, which explains why he's managed to stay alive so long ;)

which mutation one do you prefer?
I prefer the third one as it stands. The morphing one might look better without the double helix in the middle but let's go with the third one.

yeah, the pilot was supposed to be a commercial pilot. that's why he looks like that. i could do a top-gun one too if you want.

i've done a chainsaw too, but i'll post that later. you might've missed it in my last post, but what mutation icon do you prefer?

Didn't miss it, look at the previous post ;) I prefer the third mutation one. The commercial pilot is spot on.

It dosent have to be a new unit (tho it would be nice), just let them build SWAT teams from the start, maybe upgrading to a stronger SWAT unit once Call 911 has been researched. (I'm not bothered if two units share the same icon.)
You can garantee in every game the Authroties will lose all but 2-3 of thier bases within the first 20 turns, and then its just a matter of time before they die.

One more thing i've noticed. When playing as the Company, the Authorities start with a transport, but when i start as them, no transport.

Sure the Authorities are always slow to react, but as it is, your literally handing the Zombies half the city for free

okay, here are the icons, all in .pcx format, and i've included all three mutation icons and made a new old folks icon with the reddy background instead of just white.
Download link doesn't work for me. Can you check it out please?

The authorities should always have the 1 transport ship starting at the mainland base ... can someone else test this?
I think I removed the transports in the last update. It's was to stop a human player in a multi player game from shipping his kings out. You can build transports when Send In The Marines is researched and you can paradrop your Guardsman onto the island using the mainland airbase.

That was my intention.

It's 3 against 1 for the zombies and it just feels right to me that the zombie take over the entire island.

The Authorities won't be wiped out because they have a mainland base.

A strong Authorities would also make the game too easy for someone playing as the Survivors.

I want to make this scenario difficult and not just be a game of churning out units.

In a pbem game all the players would agree not to move king units off island ... in game terms it would be like All island based units have entered a quarantine zone so therefore cannot leave until job is done ...

However ... I think I like your modification ... but been too busy surfing sound libraries to play Authorities or Survivors yet ...

I agree with authorities being hard but if the player is supposed to loose some buildings then tough luck, it's sad to see the hospital being took over but a soldier has to be hard and move on...
As for new units for authorities in the early game how about a jeep?
A thing that i especially like about this scenario is those few unique units like mr Tokugawa, the hero upgrade and such. What do you think about giving other factions then the survivors such unique units too?
Units and suggested anims:
For authorities the female marine:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=100358
"Major O'Reily was outraged how the sexual discrimination in the army kept
her away from real action. She was the most capable commando that passed the rigoriuos training and instead sending her into real combat they made her an instructor at the paradise city garrison. Now the outbreak of zombism placed her in the thick of action, she didn't even manage to put her uniform on when zombies attacked the armoury. Grabbing the biggest gun around she ran out of the building..."
One of the survivor, father Dug Jameson:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=107226
"So, life wasn't sweet for me, i was a mean ganger when young and you know how it was not long ago, when your black and poor you rarely had a chance for a honest life... I had done bad thing and mingled with people you wouldn't want to meet, but i've found god and did my best to redeem myself as a priest. Never again to do violence, that's what i've sworn. But now it seems all the hell broke loose here and i'll have to protect everybody."
Or alternatively the same guy could be:
Mike Rush, the garage owner:
"Yeah, i can drive anything that moves and repair anything that is not reduced to dust... Used to work as a military engineer, now i run the garage in good ol' paradise city. Was just doin' a custom job on the mayors limo when those smelly types came here. Don't know what they are but they tasted my shotgun."
Private John 'sturdy' Smipkins, the die navy guy:
"We were just leaving our ship when we saw the port being overran by the zombie creeps. A siren signalled everybody to go to the military base, we ran like hell gunning walking corpses along the way, only to see that the whole port is swarming with them. "Where's Simpkins?" somebody asked after a while and i've remembered that our burly friend was put into arrest for a brawl with one of the engineers. We were sure he was zombie food right now when he entered the hall, a smoking gun in his hand.
"Sorry sarge, i've broken down the door and took the gun from the armoury, had to break that door too... Had no other choice when i saw those creeps munch on private Diego... Gunned a hundred of them along the way."
Alternatively there could be a few navy guys somewhere as a not-buildable unit under authority control.
And for this guy i'm not sure, but having a chinese quater in Paradise City might be an idea. He could also be fried rice seller or an yakuza, i really like this unit and it would surely look great in this mod:

I like your style and they could go in on strength of those pedia entries alone. I'm making no promises but I'll take a look at those units and if I think they're of good enough quality I'll put them in.

BTW. if you have anymore background stories like that I'd love to hear them

Hi Goblin Fanatic welcome to CFC

Like the idea of some more vehicles ... even if Company and Authorities had preset number and could not build any more ...

Like the black shotgun guy in overalls ... I mentioned the female marine before but don't think KingArthur liked it ... but have her as another unique unit would be cool IMO ...
