Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

I tried to make it a bit easier by reducing the stats of the mutant zombie -1A and -1D and raising their cost by 2. The new units should help out The Survivors and The Company only. Zombies do have an extra unit but only if they gain control of the hospital. Let me know how it plays out.

Hi LouLong
That's normal - No one said that they liked the original Worker graphic and plenty said they didn't so I changed it to Mao and changed the ini file so that it uses the fidget as the attack and used different sounds. Mao actually passes off as a good zombie what with the way he sways about and he looks
modern enough to pass as one of Paradise City's recently deceased business suits: a lawyer/ accountant. Better than the worker I thought anyway.

I also tried the nex version and was surprised to see basic Zombies use the Mao gfx...
Is that normal ?

That was really good update, but there's much update still :)
Like giving Authories a tank maybe and for The Company a victory condition, like containing the mess(I mean like building a space shuttle) (getting rid off scientists and witnesses  ). But anyways it was really good and challenging as the survivors, but is the flaming hero better version of Badass hero ?

Honestly I don't see why "bumping" should be frowned upon in the scenarios forum.

Here is a case where bumping a "dead" scenario resulted in bringing the scenario back to life!!! :king:

Off course this is a scenario about zombies, so maybe bringing dead to alive maybe should be normal... :p

I can't wait to try the new version. I tried all "Civ's" in the previous version and could only win (easily) with the Zombies. Off course it should be (very) difficult but feasible.

thanks Spetznaz a spaceship victory could actually work quite well but I'd need someone to do the graphics for me (which doesn't rule the idea out but makes it difficult). A tank is easy enough to add but I don't want to go OTT with the Authorities units ( I probably have already with cruise missiles, F15s and nukes) as it would be very easy to overpower them. I'll check out their unit lines and see if I can fit a tank in there somewhere. The Flaming Hero is a unit upgrade for the Badass Hero. I can't remember what stats I gave them but the flamin hero should have better defence at the very least.

Let me know if you can beat the zombies with this one! I have a feeling I may have to increase the number of available "jumping" resources (ammo, fuel, parts) to make a victory for the survivors more attainable.

Yes,but The Authorities and The Company needs some units what can be built right away, cause when I was playing with The Company I had to wait for 30 turns just to get the security and when I got the security,I was allready being overrun by the zombies :( , same happened to me when I was playing with the authorities

Agreed. I can change that tho'

Well, I had a great first game with the survivors at Monarch level. Especially at start when the challenge was up and the zombie fighting back in very large numbers. I managed to grap the cemetery very quick, to get rid of these crawling friends, and them pushed east, without much difficulty, I fear. Zombie cities were nearly not protected, and once having secured the factory, I could build some of these amazing mean machines, which are probably just too good. I quickly lost my access to parts though, and then the turn after, also lost my ammo supply. That was stressful and I struggled holding the city hall from waves of zombies, with bodies that must have piled up higher than the nearby skyscrappers. But as soon as I got back ammo, a steady production of these tanks (what else would these mean machines be!) allowed be to run over the map. I would go for a reduction in the stats of late units (Vinci's tank, mean machines) and less supply. I also didn't found a way to use the supplies dropped trhough the small wonder (supply point?). Couldn't disband these units :S?
Overall, anyway, it was worth the 6 hours of epic play, great scenario KingArthur :goodjob:

Glad you enjoyed it. It's very hard to strike a balance of difficulty in this scenario. Mean machines need a lot of resources so I think you were lucky to have them all (machinery, fuel and ammo) I think. Did you win tho'? About the supply drops, these need to be picked up (as you would a princess or treaure unit in a normal conquest) and returned to your capital where you will receive a bonus amount of supplies.

Yeah domination by Mean machines is mean, but they are pretty crappy when zombies get to their last mutation.

PS: When is the next version coming ? :mischief:

I won by VP before I had a chance to get to the last 4 cities of the Zombies (huge, and prone to spawn mass of conscript cannon-fodder, so it take a while to capture each of them). Never saw the last mutation though... Got it for the supply drop, thanks! I will give a try with another faction sometime soon.

This looks awesome! You had me at the "They mostly come out at night... mostly..." quote from "Bismark", can't wait for a day off to try this!

I found myself playing this again this past weekend Kingarthur; maybe the fact that you can play it a couple times in a day and actually finish is part of the reason. Quick & Dirty! Of course, it goes faster when you are getting kicked by the Zombies...

pinktiapia: I also just finished a Survivor game on Monarch; and I ddn't think the mean machine was unbalanced. Then again, I have seen the Monster Zombies when I tried playing this up on Sid; look up their stats in the pedia before you say they are too much! I lost plenty of them attacking those cities in the downtown areas. Just remember, a higher difficulty level will affect how fast the Zombies get their big guns out. I also made the mistake of going for Chain Girls first, which might have been a slight waste of time though.

Kingarthur: I'm going to send you a pm,or an e-mail today with some more ideas on this scenario, but a couple of things I need to say here. First, I tried the Company with the previous and this newer version, and both times I have gotten trounced playing on Monarch. I would love to hear some advice from anyone who has won with the Company, since I see it is really hard for them! I was not even able to take one city n either game. :(

Also, Ms. Tokugawa works, but the the T-800 unit does not! I see it in the reserach windows; it is listed in the pedia, but it never showed up in my build queue... what was I missing???

general comments: I am kind of wishing that there would be at least ONE ammo, fuel, etc. that does not move, but I understand if that is the way you want the scenario to play. The resources seem to disappear too fast and take too long to respawn though. The Zombies also seem to gravitate towards the center of the map; Not sure about this with the Authorities since I've yet to play them, but as the Surviviors and the Company I saw this a lot. I would say this works really well from the Survivors point of view; I only left two units to defend each city, but the Zombies pretty much left me alone or came in tiny dribbles. I was able to conquer my way to the Airport with effort, but if I tried to go for the heart of the city I got Zombie-smashed. I took the Fast Food Store moderately early, and it was a struggle but the waves of Undead mostly went back and forth between the Police Station and the Garage. At the end I was trying to get to the Heavy Weapons and took the Parking Lot, but that was a HUGE struggle, and I am still not sure how I managed it; they should have pulverized me. Btw, the new tanks are wonderful! Slow, but wonderful. :mischief:

I just want to say Thanks again for such a little gem. There is nothing else in my scenario collection quite like it. :goodjob:

edit: I just looked at the .biq file and I figured out the problem with the T800; you have it listed as being available to The Authorities, not The Company. Easy enough to fix!

I got it and have sent you a PM back. Thanks for some nice ideas which I will keep as a surprise for the new version. I'll fix that T800 bug too.

Here is downtown, the heart of Paradise city, full of skyscrappers, office buildings, museums, nuclear power plants, stadiums, secret corporate labs,
and the like.
