Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

Stratergy Question ... Do Radar Towers really give combat bonus ???

If so do people build them ???

Yeh they give bonuses to units in their surrounding squares, I think, and when the AI get them, they LOVE to build them.

Great Suggestion and Glad to have some good feedback again.

fe3333au...Regarding sounds for the AoK Sheep and Handyman. Please look in the .ini file and Folder for the AoK Sheep and check to see that the Sound is there for the Run and the Flc for the Run. These are in what I have for the unit and you should have them as well. The Handyman does not actually have a Fortify Flc so uses the default. The sound is just a Foot step and Aah sound. If you hear it as something else, you may need to adjust or upgrade your Sound Card or get updated Drivers or Codecs for what you have.

I agree with many suggestions that have been brought up and would like a simple list to help speed up what can be looked into for changes. This will help speed up these possible changes by allowing us to go from a list rather than wade through several pages of longer entries and also provide a "Check list" to work from. IF you will keep a Brief List and send it to King Arthur and me, we will be able to focus on the suggestions easier and faster.

...Note that King Arthur and I would like to have the Release on Halloween which is Tuesday, October 31 next week! Not a promise because it will depend on Your Help and if we can accomplish all things this week but this would be a Good Date and the Release is long over due. Please help by staying organized as best you can. Anything that will help expedite the completion of testing and the game will be Greatly appreciated. Lists are easier to make decisions and work from, so as you post with more elaborate details, please also keep a brief list we can use. It takes time to make changes so if we are going to try for this release Date, we must stay Organized.
Rather than ask questions that will take time away from King Arthur or me to answer, IF you all will check what you can to verify any question or problem first (such as looking in a .ini file or Unit Folder regarding Sounds or Flcs or the Editor for Resources, Units, Building settings, etc...), this will allow more time to address questions you cannot find the answers to and have more time to actually make the changes or adjustments rather than explain anything you could find for yourselves. I am Not saying to Omit Questions or Comments, just questions that would not be necessary if you look first for yourselves...Hope this is understandable...All is very much appreciated, we just need to Focus and complete this Now.
Civilopedia Entries that are not written or finished as well as possible unit and game play setting changes and Good suggestions from Testing now will need to be completed. Lets stay Focused and see if we can accomplish all needed tasks this week.

King Arthur is compiling a list now for needed Civilopedia Entries.

As for the Sheep Run sound, King Arthur told me the .ini was different with what he has for one thing so I just sent him the entire AoK Sheep Folder again so he can send any needed files to you testers.

I do not see anything wrong with the Engineer or shadows when "Clear Damage" is used. I am trying to sort out if others need or have different files.

Here is the list

This is a rather long list and I haven't even started on the UNITS yet.

The Farmers entry needs a bit more back story.

Got one for zombie goo:

The Zombies needed more power to soften up the walking brain containers. But how? Zombies aren't exactly the most inventive kind of "people", but they obviously have special powers, otherwise they'd still be among the dead losers that weren't ressurected by the Company. Duh. So how do the Zombies give power to weak, new zombies? BAM! Zombie goo. No one knows what exactly zombie goo is, but do you really care? You can build friggin' monster zombies with it! Stop asking stupid questions and find some.

These Civilopedia Entries can be short and to the point in order to complete all of them. Any that could use a better background story should be evident but over all, most can be kept "short and sweet" :)

Units that still require an entry should also be as short and to the point as possible as well, unless they really require a little more explanation.

.....in order to keep this organized, perhaps King Arthur will check off entries as completed so all will know what is needed as we continue.

fe3333au...Regarding Sounds and Graphics "Glitches"... I have checked all those you mentioned and I do not see any problems at all. The Sheep files apparently were corrupted or changed somehow so I have sent King Arthur the entire unit folder, which he will be updating you testers with.
The Engineer sounds and shadows are a situation that you are seeing on your computer due to settings and or hardware because those sounds and files do not show any problems at all and Both King Arthur and I have the same Files which were the files sent out to the Testers. Possibly updating your Drivers for your Graphics and Sound Cards will correct those for you.

It is going to be very busy and most likely, rather hectic these next few days so hope you all will be able to help as well as bear with us though this Rushed attempt to complete the Game for a Release next Tuesday.

Just got done playing my first game. I won conquest victory playing as the company in about 3 hours. The Zombies were hard to defeat only because there so many but thats the point. It was extremely fun and a bit adult oriented:D and uh the special qoute used by the survivers:sad: not sure that was entirely needed but overall a very excellent scenario.

Didn't you read the warning on the first post? ;)

* Warning: This scenario contains strong language and graphic depiction of zombie-human interaction.

Just what quote are you referring to as I will take a second look at it.

Glad you liked it though and to achieve a victory with the Company is no mean feat! There will be a new version out shortly and while it doesn't change any of the language it is improved in every other way.

Operation Sledgehammer

"Gentlemen, the situation on Paradise Island is quickly deteriorating. My fellow generals and I have formulated a plan which has been codenamed Operation Sledgehammer."

The general moved to a map of Paradise Island, coloured pins representing troops already stationed on the island, and where the enemy were presumed to be massing.

"This op will be a co-ordinated assault; the largest concentrations of the enemy will be targeted with cruise missiles, F-15s will clean out the smaller pockets. We will then move the tanks up into position to destroy any lingering threats."

There was a murmur amongst the men present.

"Let's get moving men."

i'm not sure if, at this time, the authorities know that the threat on paradise island is the zombies, so i just called them the enemy :)

Regarding the Engineer grey shadow ... I was clearing the dead bodies SE of the Armoury ... perhaps someone could test this and see if it is infact my computer. I do not get any shadow effect when fixing roads or crators.

I have ceased with the Farmers ... after Day 9ish I had ALL tech.
Zombies are very strong ... Company has 1 building, Authorities have Dockyard and Military Base, Survivors have 3 or 4 buildings and razed the Graveyard.

 Really love the Balloon and new Zombies units ... I learnt the hard way to keep off the streets

Regarding Halloween ... Good Idea
Even if not all entries have been added ... they can be a patch later, and I'm sure that there will be heaps of discussion when everyone has a chance to play.

Summary of tweeks
1. Bubba needs to have Wheeled added to his Pedea Entry.
2. Resources IMO and Terrain need to have less food and more cash and shield bonuses ... after all it is not a game of building up populations.
3. I think that the techs need to be more expensive.
4. Zeb needs to have rate of Fire changed from 1 to 2 (that means he can attack twice ... yes ???) ... there may be other units that need this as well.
5. There was a lot of other stuff in my stream of consciousness :mischief: but it seemss to have been addressed.

Starting on Company.

Incorrect pedia entry ... under Research Lab, there is a line about the Test Lab

I really love the CEO Copper ... I air dropped an Engineer already to fix a road.

fe3333au... The Test Lab is suppose to be called Test Lab and is mentioned under the Research Lab because it is a Lab lol. The Test Lab, unlike the other Research Labs, makes Alpha Zombies:eek:

"1. Bubba needs to have Wheeled added to his Pedea Entry". Done2. Resources IMO and Terrain need to have less food and more cash and shield bonuses ... after all it is not a game of building up populations.

2. There will be more shields and less food.

"3. I think that the techs need to be more expensive". Considering this...please test these settings: under the General Settings tab in the Editor, set the tech Minimum research time to 8 and the Maximum to 32 and play this

"4. Zeb needs to have rate of Fire changed from 1 to 2 (that means he can attack twice ... yes ???) ... there may be other units that need this as well". This is the blitz setting and King Arthur has removed Blitz from the Sheriff and Zeb.

Regarding the Engineer grey shadow ... I was clearing the dead bodies SE of the Armoury ... perhaps someone could test this and see if it is infact my computer. I do not get any shadow effect when fixing roads or crators.
fe3333au... I tested this again and I do not see any problems concerning shadows when Clearing the Dead Bodies at the Armoury.
are you seeing shadows or could it be a leg from the Dead Body you are seeing?

Those guys should have Blitz. I'll correct it tonight and send it out with the other changes to the biq.

fe3333au - if you can post a screenshot of the engineer please do.

LMR - nice writing, short and punchy which is good. I think Op Sledgehammer no longer gives Missiles (Get Me The President gives missiles) so I'll remove the mention of them.

Rate of Fire ... that means how many times you can attack in a single turn if you choose not to move ... correct?

If so ... then the Director entry is wrong it shows 2.

Ooops ... posted before I realised comments had been made.

Regarding the Test Lab thing ... maybe mention that it is a special thing related to the Research Centre.

Did I mention that I really like the Helicopter ;)

:wallbash: I didn't save the Farmers so will have to replay ... I will continue with Company and then go back ... sorry.

General Fullbright slammed down the phone, causing his secretary to jump.

"Damn National Guard," Fullbright muttered. "Can't even control a small scale riot!" The secretary did not reply as a messenger entered the general's office and handed her a document. She glanced at it briefly.

"General, I think you'd better read this." The General snatched the paper away from his secretary and looked over the printed words. His face hardened as he dropped the paper to his desk. Fullbright picked up the phone and punched in a number.

"The situation on Paradise has escalated. The National Guard aren't doing ****, and I have a report that the rioters seem to be much more dangerous than we first thought."

The secretary could hear the voice on the other end of the line, but could not make out the words. The General drummed his fingers on his desk. He grunted several times in acknowledgement, then cleared his throat.

"Send in the Marines."
