Estimate on Expected Steam Tech Support Response Time?

A quick question:

Any idea how long one should expect to wait to hear back from Steam (Valve) Tech Support about a download issue?

(I filed a question last night, PST, to Tech Support...and assumed I'd get an answer this morning when they returned to work. No response received by noon PST.)

[Tech Support Issues: My most recent "downloads" (on two different computers) have been greatly in excess of the expected size. (v1.0.0.62 patch, at least that's what I was expecting to download, should have been 30+MB...instead I'm stuck in the middle of a 480MB+ download with no content transparency. My other computer was supposed to be downloading the Mongolian Civ DLC last night -- registering at 72MB or so -- but I stopped the download after 100MB+ was download, of which only 11.2MB had been applied to the 72MB update.]

So, how long should I wait before re-contacting Steam Tech Support about my Civ 5 download (only game I have on file with Steam)?

Eventually. VALVe is notoriously slow at doing (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Valve_Time), well, anything. If they haven't replied by then, e-mail then again. I've never dealt with them though, sorry.

In the mean time try searching around the Steam support and forums.

OK, thanks for letting me know...ugh!

Still no response (not surprising given the input above)...guess I'm stuck in DL hell without much/many options.

(Wish there was a way to "reset" the download queue to see if I could get either of the expected downloads to occur without all the extra--whatever it is--bloat.)

They will respond to your request for help...eventually...ok probably never. Tech support really really sucks with these guys. I have tried and tried and tried again but they never responded to my request for help. Why should they care really, they already got my money and yours.

You will always get a response, it may take 3-5 (working) days however, so long as you put in a support ticket following these instructions. Sending an e-mail is not the best way to get your problem resolved.
