After spending way too much time editing UI files, I present Et Cetera, a spiritual successor to my Proverbium mod for Civ 6, that gives unique names and quotes to all of the common Civic and Tech Masteries!

Awesome. Might I suggest adding (Mastery) at the end of the Tech/Civic so the player knows that it's a mastery when choosing something new to research?
Just to add to this - certain game effects impact research speed for masteries specifically so it's definitely good for it to be clear to the player 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion! This has been added on all tooltips and in the culture/tech selection panel as seen in the below images:

Sadly I have trouble to activate the german translation. I added another folder with de_de, but the game does not recognize it.
Maybe you could give me a small hints?

Thank you :)

You'll also need to add it to the LocalizedText section of et-cetera.modinfo. It also looks like the English text is handled differently from the other languages, so you'll need to make a few tweaks:
  • Change all instances of EnglishText to LocalizedText
  • Add Language="de_DE" to each entry (probably most easily done with a Find-Replace)
If it still doesn't work, you can send me the file or post it here and I'd be happy to help troubleshoot it - it's definitely a learning process with the game just newly released!

I tried the mod, and with new game it worked - but when loading saved game, it disappears...
it is in the mods in additional content, but not in the game...

any chance we can get this to work with Rayoz12' cheat panel, seems your mod is overwriting the cheat panel. would be great if the 2 could work together

Several of the Tech/Civic Tree Mastery names don't match the Quick-view (the bar on the left that comes up if you just want to change your research selection without looking at the whole tree) Mastery names. It doesn't really matter because they're still named thematically, but it can be confusing.

I think I solved this (due to Suk's UI mod modifying the same file) - let me know if the update is working for you!
