Errr, well, it's on The European continent, so I can't see how anyone could make a case for it not being in Europe. Turkey, perhaps, but Istanbul, no.
The poll options are strange, if not bizare, though. There are tons of notable ommissions, such as Naples, London, Bruges, and so on.
And Brussels must be about the ugliest city in Europe. The things that the city authorities have done to that city since the war are nothing short of criminal.
I voted Paris as most beutiful. Rome's also beutiful, but with it's extremely limited subway system, how is one supposed to see anything? Everything in Rome is scattered, taxis are scarce, and walking is too much for us lazy Americans Florence is good I guess, but not much outside Renaissance art.
But beuty isn't everything, and I must say that I like London the best out of Europe, modern and lots of sights to see. Only problem there is food, not much British food outside of Fish 'n Chips and Afternoon tea

Karkow is very pretty.
Plac Zamkowy at Warszawa is amazing, especially when you think it is completely reconstructed!
But to tell the truth, I can't choose. Firstly, I haven't toured all of Europe, and I especially miss Paris, Edinburgh, Roma and Barcelona at my repertoire.
Secondly, I find it hard to rate the "Most beautiful". Each unique city and it's own virtues.
What I can say is that London is my favorite city, it has magic I did not experience anywhere else. Not even in Florence.
If anyone of you is coming to Prague, let me know and I show you the best places & pubs )
And somebody here was asking about the flood. Yeah the flood was b******t. The historical centre was not much affected, but other parts around the river still look like after some earthguake/war. They opened last part of subway last month and still the subway stations have no roof. Trees around the river are torn down, only ugly mud remained there. No one is eager to fix these parts, because everyone is afraid that the flood will come again in a few years. Karlin is the worst affected part of Prague - there is still no electricity in some parts, some houses fell down - looks worse than in Bagdad. :-((
personaly I hate big cities. This is because of the sheer amounts of people and the result of not knowing who people are, and it seems there are a lot of wierd people, the smell and air is terrible, and I have a strange phobia of looking up at tall buildings.
I love small town america. You know everyone and know what's going on. You have less competition for sports teams etc., the air is fine, you have many more outdoor opportunities.
This said my favorite city is Gettysburg, South Dakota. A town of two thousand where the tallest structure is a light pole at the track, and was renowned for it's 1975 Turkey Drop where for thanksgiving they dropped turkies out of an airplane and thought they would float down but they splatted every where.
Paris is definately beautiful, i stay in a Best Western it was a 400 year old Best Western Hotel
Just hmmm about 2 blocks away from the Arc de Triumphe, right beside the Champs e leysee (spell check)
It was great there, saw a fight at the base of the Eiffel Tower one of those street salesmen was flying around those toy birds and hit a lady in the head and she stomped on it and then the security gaurds came in and the street salesman said something to a security gaurd and he pounced on him it was entertaining.
You forgot to post a picture of Notre Dame, also riding down the Sienne on those river boats was quite fun
I suppose that I, being British, should realy vote for London but having been to Athens I can honestly say that it is the most beautiful city in the world. There's a hill somewhere near the city centre which we climbed at night. There is a lovely little church right on the top and looking over the city truly took my breath away. By day it's equally beautiful, it has the Acropolis for Christ's sake, and even the slums have a certain appealing charm. Love that city
EDIT: Naples and Sorrento sre wonderfully beatiful cities as well
*Sigh* Again Russia is not included in the poll. Hey, guys you should definitely try to expand your knowledge of Europe. Moscow and especially St. Pete are beatiful cities. As for foreign cities, I'd vote for Paris. Sacre-Cour, Notre-Dam, St. Chapelle, Arc de Triomphe, Bastille, Hotel de Ville, place Stalingrad... I love that city. Look forward to making a trip there again.
