Every day, looking for news of the patch. It's been at least a month. :(

On a side note, the official 2K boards are flooded by indian voodoo love potion spam.

WHEN IS THE PATCH.

WHEN IS THE PATCH.

I think it's going to take more than a patch. Maybe an expansion-pack (or two).

In a year either they'll be making this game playable or they'll be announcing Civ VI.

Although, I've moved on from BE (just isn't my thing), I still check back to see news regarding the patch. I am shocked it still hasn't been released.

This just shows how broken BE was that it needed such an all encompassing massive patch. I know I've moved on but I am still curious to see what changes will be made and try them out. It's possible it could become fun.

6 weeks and still no patch - jeez. I never expected this long of a wait.

I have a theory that Firaxis may need Asypr (the people porting BE to Mac) to make changes to the Mac version before it can be released.

You can see in steamdb that there was activity with the windows version of BE over the last several workdays except today. Today there was activity on the Mac version.

Obviously this is pure speculation and they could just be moving random stuff around, but I'd like to think they are working hard at it, and that its coming out soon.

Are you saying you didn't give the "most powerful vashikaran specialist baba ji" a try? That "Black magic for love marriage" certainly seems powerful.

Somehow I get the feeling that Firaxis/2K realise that Civ BE is a complete mess and don't know where to start fixing it. Back to the drawing board altogether maybe? A complete re-write?

Seems like too many 'corrections' for just a simple 'patch' to resolve. Perhaps BE is the first genuine lemon of the Civ franchise series and needs to be totally overhauled...

This is happening on loads of forums that I use, but fortunately not this one yet.

Simple fix to it would be to require that new accounts make 10-20 posts first before they can create a new thread.

Totally offtopic, but its such a big problem on too many forums.

When Civ 5 was released in September of 2011, the first patch did not arrive until December of that year. 4 months. There were many balance issues and engine problems that needed to be fixed.

The second month of BE being released just passed. Given the nature of the holiday I don't think much work was done last week. I think we'll be under the 4 month mark. Hopefully the 2014 deadline as well, that'd be a nice holiday gift.

It would be nice if we could see a bullet list of locked in fixes with details on balance changes. But I'd rather they put something out sooner than spend too much time with the community trying to put out fires. The best fire suppressant would be to take away the fuel currently burning.

Indeed, the fact that the patch isn't out yet can mean one of two things:
- It's going to be huge and add a ton of features and fixes that will improve the game significantly.
- The state of the game is so bad and so unfinished that they literally don't know where to begin. The game is actually still in developement and we got sold a beta.

I am certainly crossing my fingers and hoping for the first option because I definitely want to go back to playing the game and have a great experience. I'd love to feel like I downloaded a brand new game when I start a patched version of BE for the first time.

But I do kinda feel like we got sold a beta, albeit a pretty good beta. The interface issues alone support that notion.

I saw that too. Tried to report it but the page wouldn't load. Then I noticed it's been there for two days. Where dem mods at?

Umm, both is probably likely. I second the hope of having a whole new game when the patch hits. I have been holding off playing this past week. I want to go into the patched version fresh. I'm hoping for a patch with not just tweaks but major overhauls to some of the systems. So while I want it NOW, I'd rather it be right than punctual.

Me too.... :D

Releasing the game in a beta state and selling it as a full game has become very popular in gaming industry.
CivBe isn't even that bad if you compare it with Assassin's creed: Unity which just came out in almost early alpha state. :D lol :D
.... and fans ?...what fans ? " Just give us your money suckers " :D :D :D
No more pre-order games for me...ever,...never ever...

Both, but they know where to start. It's same like wiith CIV5. Few massive patches and at least 1 expansion is required to bring this game to playable state.

I would suggest not having such high hopes to avoid being disappointed. It's not going to be a new game but hopefully it will be a much more enjoyable iteration of the beta we were sold.

They should do early releases on AAA games like with indie games instead of fully releasing such an unfinished mess.

from Aspyr's update on the mac version of the patch:
As noted, the Mac version is now live and playable, but there’s still work to be done. Firaxis/2K have a planned patch on the way, and we’ve been working hard to get it implemented for the Mac. Our goal is to release the update on Mac at the same time as Windows PC, primarily to keep versions in sync for our cross-platform multiplayer… players.
Unfortunately, we’ve hit a few snags, as the implementation of the patch so far is not playing well with the rest of the game. We’re still working hard on it, but we want to let our players know that these unforeseen difficulties may delay the patch implementation for the Mac as well as Linux. We’ll have more info in the coming week(s).

That sounds like the patch is complete but compatibility is delaying it. It also sounds like Firaxis might release the patch for PC before Mac/Linux if it doesn't come along soon.

WHEN IS THE PATCH.

There's some kind of technical error going on in the 2K forums, which is why you're seeing that voodoo spam. Our engineers are working on it.

As for patch, Firaxis is working hard and hopefully will have more info to share very soon.
