Expansions.

What do you think the civ4 expansion packs will be? i think that they will have a scienaro one like conquests was. i would enjoy that. and they should have one that is updated. like 'Civ4 Perfected' or something without bugs.

Yeah, because the current one is so buggy.

I think it's too early to say much about expansion packs..

In any case, bugs should be fixed in free patches, not expansion packs.

Heh, let's see Civ4 before worrying about expansion packs. But I'm sure they have an idea for at least one expansion pack in the works while they make the game. Not everything will have to be in Civ4 original release, now will it?

It would be interesting if they made Alpha Centaury 2 and Dinosaurs as expansion packs.

2)more UU's (I've wanted since civ3's earliest days a UU-line that covers every major era, or for this case, advances in weaponry corrseponding with particuler eras.

I'd expect expansion packs to come with At least several scenarios

I might feel justified with one that came with a lot of new techs/units that significantly improved gameplay

New Civs are nice but wouldn't justify an expansion pack

Bugs .... If there is an expansion pack that only fixes bugs I'd consider piracy (or deleting and trashing the original)

Expansion packs SHOULD NOT contain fixes to bugs that otherwise would not be available for FREEdownload on the internet as a patch.

Ha... I can't imagine an expansion pack that just fixed bugs. How on Earth would they market it?? I can see it now...

Well, I won't back away from saying that if they have expansions to offer, I will have the cash to give for them !
As for what they will contain-well I am betting new civs almost for certain. New units/resources and techs are also highly likely, but I am REALLY hoping that they take the time to expand the Religion, Espionage and Diplomacy systems too!

Give me stronger/more/better AI and I'll buy an expansion. After all, I know there are only so many $$$ that can be devoted to any given task during development. The project has to make money, so there are limits on how much they can spend.

Expansions bring in more money, meaning more $$$ for development. If a goodly chunk of that goes to furthering a more advanced AI, then maybe the expanded game would actually play better.

At least for my taste, an expansion needs to be an expansion to gameplay as well as eye candy.

I don't want mods, I want professional work, good scenarios made by Firaxis, units, and maps made by them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wrong. Expansion is where they make most of their profits. The game is already developped. So they just add a few civs with UU's a few scenarios and voilà - pure profit for very little work.

Expansions usually are some kind of a rip off unless they add a totally new dimension to the original game.

How bout a starwars expansion. Future Techs allow to build droids and clones then researching 'The Force' allows you to build the Jedi Temple great wonder. The temple trains a Jedi warrior every 5 turns (like C3C's Knight's Templar). Especially cool if u could make each Jedi look different (one like Yoda etc.). Obviously eventually one of your Jedi's would embrace the dark side, go to ure biggest rival CIV and become Sith. it'd be great.

As said earlier-you could mod that in and plus, Lucas has the rights to all that stuff so Firaxis will have to shell out moolah if they do that
