Expansive Dreams

Ok, basically I am going to play until either: I get a Great Scientists (2 Scientists= +6= 18 turns.) Or until the Slider goes above 50%... Or both hehehe. What do you reckon?

So, guys, a settle C3 for Gems, Granary/ikhanda infranstucture in commerance? (Or opposite?)

Grow cities? Get Cottages? Use Sign?

I just don't want to mess up, but I am getting the hang of this: Moai Iron or C3 Spices and Gems?

Internet connection has been restored.

I'd reckon finish settler in Ulundi then set it to build a library while growing a bit. Swop uMgun to settler now (no hammers in library yet). Ulundi settler for c3, Umgun settler for ironfish. Once Ulundi's got a library put it to run 2 scientists to get a GS for academy in Ulundi. Umgun should pump out workers once settler is done. Ikhandas and culture in new cities.

Got it, player after my brother is done with his HRE Settler Game. (I gasped when he had 100 axemen, 2 workers, and 2 cities, working on COL at the Year... 1500 AD... and he is at a tech disadvantage and giving free techs to everyone and is friendly with everyone and berly has an power advantege...)

Thanks! Wait a few hours. No pic.

I might be too late here but I really don't think we can afford to found two new cities right now.
We can barely support our economy as it is.

We already have one settler just about finished in Ulundi...nothing we can do about that.
We should not start a settler in Umung.
We don't have fishing yet and we aren't going to for quite some time.
The last thing we want to do is to add cities that will take money away from our research.
60 turns on Math isn't exactly my idea of fun...adding two cities is only going to make that worse.
Especially since Ironfish brings zero commerce to the table until fishing arrives.

I would have posted sooner but I was running errands all day long.

C3 will add gems (6 commerce), we've got another gem mine being built. Library adds 6 beakers. Should be ok. Maybe go fishing before maths.

Sorry about my lack of input. Some work has come up for me and I'm away till next monday (a week tomorrow) and probably without a computer or the internet.

We can just camp the settler at iron fish till we can afford to settle. However I would say that starting a worker at uMgung is a better idea IMO. They come cheap and are our tools for economic revival.

Get some cottages down in our commerce cities as our 1# priority and a Lib in Ulundi. Cottages in Ulundi would be ok but once the Lib is built (max hammers) we'll be running a couple of sci's so we probably can't work that many cottages while we still build some workers.

Even though I advocated not attaking wang till we we're ready we could do some pillaging to get some cash. Another option is to attack and raze those barb cities for cash.

@ cripp7 and pigswill. I was just checking out the SGGOTM and noticed your in it! Thats some heavy shizzal. Whats it like playing a competative SG (esspecially at quick speed!)? I would love to play a SGGOTM but I justy can't commit that time to a game. Impressive dedication. Good luck to you (I'll be lurking).

Wow, I NEVER knew how easy is to forget to whip. Or to build to many mines. Or not build enough cottages. (every city should have at least one cottage except for a few.) Or allow your brother walk all over you playing his game. (BTW he reloaded after trying to kill Modern Armiour with Rifles... ON SETTLER!)

No pics, a nice report with save in ETA 1 hr IF mom doesn't send me back in the workforce: we are mulching today. If not back in 5 hrs just play without me.

Intro

Shaka Charles the II came, his spirit reentering his body. He sees an empire with a full belly, but starving for brains and money. He decided to feed his Empire, to show the world the powers of his workes! To Tools!

Turn 1-1050 B.C.E.

The Setter is Completed. He will se sent to settle the Spiced Lake, and work the Gems until we can afford it to grow. Ulundi was ordered to stop the rationing of Corn immediately and start the Library. It would take 425 turns usuing the current tools from one hill, but he was certain that once the city grew that it will take far less time than expected. (Ulundi Settler->library 21 turns)

Nobama was ordered to build the Ikhanda, it would take even longer than the Library at Unlundi, but he was patient. The city was young, and the training of officers will ensure lower corruption. (Monument -> Ikan't 28 turns)

The Library at Umung was cancelled, and a Worker Division was ordered. It will take 125 years. I smiled as I saw that our expertize speed up the production by three production.

The City desired to be liberated, but I refuted their demands.

The Barbarian city of Harappan has three archers, as seen as our 5th Umug Axe. On a hill we will not burn it for gold until we can risk the death of many men.

The 6th Umug Axe was ordered east of Bulawayo to look at the other barbarian city. As well as to clear the uncertain fog.

A Random Axemen was sent to help as well.

The Worker at Bulawayo was ordered to Farm. Negneting a road on the Gold until after this imprtant work.

The Settler was sent to settle Spice Lake.

An exploring Impi was sent west again.

Another in indian land was sent south.

Turn 2- 1025 B.C.

We have received Iron in the Mines of Umgu! No need for the fishing of Iron Fish that will hurt our teeth! kwaDukuz was founded on Spice Lake. Known to outsiders as Wadu(Opps, founded on wrong tile due to my brother messing around! I reload game and play exactly the same, hopefully we get the Iron again...)

We found Khmer land, and found the city of Ankor Thom.

Kwadukuza was ordered to work the Gem mine, and it is aldready replemishing our treasury at 2 gold per generation. Working on the Ikan't

Turn 3- 1000 B.C.

2nd Ulundi Worker is moving with a worker north of nobama to continue chopping the jungle for the cottage.

A Williamite Missionary was sighted.

Impi that found the Kmer found the Chines to the West and the Romans to the south of Angkor Thom.

The 5th axe was sent to check for barbarians south of Harappan.

Our Gold income is up to three a turn already. Ulundi grew and the library is new now only in 250 years.

Turn 4- 975. B.C.

Umug was ordered to build a swordsmen, to take and burn that barbarian city. 4 Swords are ordered against the expected 2 archers. (one will definately leave, it is a barb thing.) And it is expected to have burn it. (7.8 V.S. 6? If they get walls we are screwed)

The Worker was sent to work in the mine northwest of Umgu.

Impi found city of Shanghai of China.

Turn 5- 950 B.C.

The workers at Nobama started a cottage for more money. This city was designated for commerance a pretty long time ago, and I won't change it.

Workers at the Gems started Mining, the other resting worker will road the tile.

Impi heads into China Proper.

Scouting Axe spot the name of the barbarian settlement to the east. Bactrian seems easier to raze: no hills.

Turn 5- 925 BC.

Bulawyo, finishing it's monument, started on an Ikan't
And Christianity! I will stop here to consult the anceseters.

(Guys, should I go for Christy with Williem, or whouls I wait for on eof the others? William is a solid ally, and can heavily supplement our techs.

The Hindu Camp of Sury, Mao and Jully are Agressive Techers except for one, so we have good war buddies and trade parters, of slightly lower quality, AND we have sury in there, which is not good. (I call him wax face). But he was one of our comped for which to do in this SC.)

Then thre is the Boobist Camp... almost a definate No-no. We have Wang, someone doomed, and Ash, second to last after Wang.

Also, Boobist is closest, Then William's Crips, and then the Hindopes. So if that counts.

I'll resterat as soon as I have three oppinions with a sure majority.

No need to join a religion right now...better diplomatically to stay neutral at this point.

Yep, no rush to pick a side. At some point someone may demand we convert but we should stay agnostic for the moment.

Got it... And Thomas started another game... as Tokugawa. :dies:

These are his rules:

Archary is King
Fuedalism is Queen
...
Macemen Pwns all
When in dough, build 10 axemen.
Change to Slavery, thewn chage back to hear the revolution music.

(I feel sick)

My Impi in Shanghai will get covershields and defend from an Vedic archer uprising on a hill... wish him luck!

How do I say this without coming across a jerk????

We have played one set in the last 11 days.
Can we please pick up the pace just a little bit?

@Cripp: My statement was in no way directed at you...i apologize if it came across as such.

@Pigswill: If you can play today...please take Grandads save and play it.

@Charles: Please at least keep us informed of your status...if you can't play then let us know so we can proceed accordingly.

I apologize for this post...I just want to get the game moving.
I don't know any other way to make that happen.

Too knackered to play tonight.

Hopefully Charles will finish his set and post the save.

Otherwise I'll play from the last posted save.

Tomorrow.

Hi. Finally (if temporarily) back on line. I have to agree with sturick on this one. One incomplete set in over a week is just to slow.

ENGAGE BASTARD MODE
@Charles Li. Please try to keep us updated about what you are doing. I know RL can be an arse but its only polite to let you team mates know what they should be doing.

@All (inc. myself) if you stop the game to ask for advice before recomencing then POST THE SAVE! This way we can carry on from where you left off.
Finally if you post a got it and haven't played within 72 hours of this (this figure may be revised DOWNWARDS) the the next player on the roster should try to take the save.

Remember that it is only good manners to keep you team mates informed as to what you are doing.

DISENGAGE BASTARD MODE

Iron in the military city.... I'm in love!

Note that if playing from a previous save there's no guarantee we'll have iron pop in turn 2.
