So im getting bored of having to repeatedly find space on this seemingly shrinking 40GB harddrive my laptop has.

Apparently p0rn/music/games take up increasing amounts of space.

So can someone please reccomend me a good external harddrive? It just needs to be somewhere i can dump files, but that would be accessable without any faffing about..

e.g. if i move my music collection there. Itunes wouldnt have a problem playing from it.

Preferably is would be very simple affiar than i could plug into any laptop and it would just work.

I cant imagine what size/price these things come in.. but i dont think i need a huge one say 250GB or whatever.. even another 20GB would be a stop gap (an cheap i guess)

Oh, im in the UK, i dont mind buying overseas, but make sure the post to the UK..

if not, just reccomend me some models and i could hunt them out.

OCUK have got pretty much all of them - you might find same drives cheaper elsewhere but it's handy for seeing just what it is available.

For laptop use, recommend an external drive with it's own power supply. If you have too much USB devices sucking too much power, your poor lappy battery won't cope.

You could just buy an external USB enclosure (box) and buy your own drive and stick it in. Miles cheaper.

oh so you mean a normal internal pc harddrive, and then fit it into a little case to turn it external? Wouldnt i have problems connecting it to laptop that way, or will the case turn it tp a USB connection?

I've got two hard drives set up in cases. It's just a USB connection (altough some cases use firewire). They are very handy, I use them for transfering data between various computers.
