Yes.

Download it from firaxis.

BTW.

It might help to fix your pagefile to 2k/2k and not run anything in the backroung while playing the game.

Start/run

Type in:

msconfig

Disable all on startup tab.

Under services tab check the box for hide all MS services, disable the rest, apply, and reboot.

Change it to 2000/2000 initial and maximum.

oops left this part out:

Change it to 2000/2000 initial and maximum.

Control panel/system/advanced/performance/settings/advanced/virtual memory change button/

Select custom size and set it to 2000/2000.

Yay!:D

Happy Gamming:band:

I am running Windows XP and have the same error message with Civ4 1.52.

I reinstalled using Windows 2000 and the game works. (Civ4 1.52)

The game is poorly developed that's for sure. If I can run it on one O/S and not on another while still maintaining the same hardware, it's a software issue between the game and the O/S. Graphics and sound are great; however, the intro movie is a bit choppy.

The CD's I have are also mislabeled which solved the "cannot find CD-ROM" error.

Hardware Specs:

2.4GHz P4 1MB 533MHz S478
512MB RAM DDR400
Intel D865PERL M/B
ATI Radeon 9200 SE 128MB
Windows 2000 (No service packs)
430Watt P/S
