FailedReality's Pitboss (1st - Vanilla)

Yeah but this still means everyone else have to wait for the timer to run out.

Oyzar- It's only an 18 hour turn timer. One turn per day is pretty good. Later on in the game the turns will probably end up going much faster. Once people start getting eliminated that is. I'm in one now where there are only 3 of 8 left, and we're getting in about 2-4 turns per day now.

You are dreaming... There is always one guy you have to wait 20 hrs for after everyone else are done :p.

Why is it dwarf and classical seem alway move near the same time?

Is this discusion really usefull???
if the timer runs 24 hours then the timer runs 24 hours.
Thats why there is a timer. If everybody whould make a turn a day we wouldnt need a timer.

Yeah... I never thought of it like that.
I agree.

Game philosophy, being a good sport, not manipulating the dynamics of the game....however you choose to describe your approach to the game. I now know how some of you play and will keep that in mind in the future. If you can't win by being proper, then you really can't win. I'll just leave it at that.

Much of it this is opinion, as there is no set protocol. (and I, obviously, believe a different opinion than yours to be more right).

Some people would not even shy away from backstabbing a direct ally, yet you could argue that is okay in the context of the game. Honor and properness are highly subjective.

I think you are incorrect in saying your view is necessarily proper while other peoples makes them improper players, who don't "win" or "play" in the right way.

I'll probably post a thread in the multiplayer(or general) forum to have a debate over the topic, so it will be interesting to see what a variety of people have to say.

Levgre, I have no problem losing. Lord knows I've lost plenty before, more than I've won actually. Taking advantage of my mid turn disconnect, and inability to return, while in mid attack is hardly respectable though. Especially if you logged back in and moved that unit into the city. Which if I remember correctly it was fortified, which would mean that's what happened and would be considered a double move of sorts. Either way, kudos to you and sonny.

Well, for one, Sonnybond moved the unit into the city and then gave it to me, so I had no input or control over the timing of it. It actually took me like 2 minutes to find the axeman ;p, after seeing I had been given it in the event log. And it wasn't fortified, it was in my city with 0 movement.

Secondly, I didn't know that you had the disconnect problem. I guess if I thought about it I might have figured it out(since if you attacked with the catapults already MOST LIKELY you'd keep going), although I had no need to since my move for the turn was done.

But perhaps you should of pm'd sonnybonds and I so we would've known. Although we never determined Sonnybonds turn order was(before or after you), so I'm not sure if you could say he did a doubleturn violation. I guess we should've sorted that out.

I agree that game mechanics should be agreed on and followed the same by all... so I wouldn't have tried to abuse that.

I did say "If I remember correctly", so I certainly wasn't claiming that you did, but if. Also, I did post here in post #270 above that I wasn't able to finish my turn. Regarding sending the message to Sonny, it wasn't necessary. Especially when taking the following quote from a PM that I received from Sonny himself.....
Sonnybonds said:
who said anything about transfering? that axeman is just monitoring the war.

So as you can see, I had no reason to believe he would transfer it. Which again is fine of course if you want to play that way. That was certainly a game changing axeman though. What would you have had me do? Get FR to reload the save?

Mauer i m sorry to see you losing for some kind of connection problem. If thats the case I suggest we do a reload. Its so stupid to loose of a technical problem. If I m right the server saves after every turn.

And about that axeman: its compleet legal to transfer it to Levgree. That post is just diplomatic talk. You are not gonna cry about it i hope. thats how this game is played sometimes. When i saw Levgree in trouble i gave him the unit to balance things more.

I warned you about going to war with Levgree.
