I would like to make a proposal, concerning wars and turn-taking protocol.
I do not like that, with simultaneous turns, that it becomes advantageous to wait as long as possible before making a move, or that a player can exploit someone not being able to be at their computer and making two subsequent quick moves to gain a victory(or a defender can rush and draft a unit or such)... it is one of the reasons I desired to play a game outside gamespy.
These are tactics that rely on things OUTSIDE of actual game mechanics and skill to win.
My proposal is thus. Once a player declares war on another, an artificial turn order is set up between the combatants. The aggressor takes their turn first, and afterwards the defender makes moves. If allies enter the conflict, then whole teams take their turn at once.
If a 3rd, or 4th, team enters, then they take their turns 3rd or 4th.
Of course common sense applies... you don't have to wait for things thatdon't involve military moves... if a team skips their turn the team that goes 2nd can go ahead of them, etc...
what do you guys think? Any other ideas?
